Thanks for the advice! I sideboarded Vexing Shusher to deal with the counterspells, but against things like Meddling Mage, I have no response.I will have to edit the manabase and add some white removal. :D

You might want to fix your description of a perfect turn 4 win. Look at turn 4...

Oh, thanks for spotting that! I never even noticed. I tend to mix up Safehold Elite and Safehold Sentry way too much. :P

In my opinion, 26 seems like a lot of lands. I would cut two lands for two Fauna Shaman since they can help you tutor for your combo pieces. I would swap Naturalize for Nature's Claim. Nature's Claim does the same thing, and since you don't really care about your opponents life total, it is way better than Naturalize.

Thanks for the suggestions thegreatwizard! I never even knew Nature's Claim existed :P

Collected Company can grab your creatures and help you win.

Collected Company seems like it would help greatly to put combo pieces on the field, but with Cream of the Crop, Harmonize and Fauna Shaman to help grab combo pieces, what should I drop? The Cream of the Crops?
Thanks. :D

Yeah, think you should replace Cream of the Crop. Your creatures have low power and you need to play a creature for it to get you more. Collected Company is better in the fact that it is instant and doesn't worry about board position in order for it to have a use. I would recommend running more creatures though if you want your Collected Company or your Cream of the Crops to hit more often. Try adding at least 4 more creatures.

By the way, Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit can also cause the combo if your persist creature has the lowest or tied for the lowest toughness, because the +1/+1 counter and the -1/-1 counter will cancel each other out and remove themselves.

Hm, I never though of Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit as an enabler. Cool.
I will change Cream of the Crop to Collected Company when I get a chance. :D
You said I should add maybe 4 more creatures. Other than Anafenza (Cuz I like using my darling Melira), what creatures do you think would be good here? Thanks

Hey Jdvanliew, I know all about the Presence of Gond combo, and it was my first pick for this deck. But after seeing so many other decks using that combo, I wanted something a bit more unique, something that could use one of my favorite cards (Melira, Sylvok Outcast), with one of my favorite mechanics (Persist).
However, one of my biggest pet peeves is comments like yours. I know faster combos exist. I know this isnt the most practical way of G/W mill. I know it could be modern, but its not. I really dont appreciate someone coming on my deck and saying "I would've +1'ed... if the enitre thing was diffrent." So no, you dont get a big gulp.
If you have any contructive criticism for the deck in it's current state, without changing the combo, I would love to know.
I understand you just wanted to enlighten me on a cool, faster combo, but I like the combo I am pulling off now. so in the future, dont leave comments like "If I hadn't instantly been able to come up with a faster win with the same restrictions in a more restricted format I would've +1'ed... Do I get a free big gulp?" They make you sound cocky.
With all due respect,---Crayfish.

Cool deck :)
Sunpetal Grove could be good on the manabase.

maybe a mana dork like Elvish Mystic instead of Essence Warden? could get you to combo out faster
September 2, 2015 3:23 p.m.
skitch4200 Do you think it would be better to use mana dorks, like Elvish Mystic and Noble Hierarch, or invest in some mana rocks, like Sol Ring and Mana Crypt? Most mana dorks cost less money to purchase (but I do have a Noble Hierarch on hand) than the rocks, the the rocks generally produce more mana, albeit colorless. So what do you think?
And tclaw12, thanks for the idea of Sunpetal Grove. I love that card.

Whoops, didnt know both Sol Ring and Mana Crypt were banned. :P

As long as this is legacy, Worldly Tutor might be a nice addition to help with finding your creatures.

I think it's a great idea and I like the combos, but how effective would this deck be against a legacy deck with Force of Will, Swords to Plowshares, and Meddling Mage? Also, you should definitely fix up to manabase a little; 24 basics isn't going to cut it when you are trying to win by turn four. Just throw in a few Savannah and Windswept Heath to make the deck more consistent. Woodfall Primus seems very slow at eight mana. I would cut it for something like Swords to Plowshares so that you can buy yourself a little more time to find combo pieces. Love the idea; +1 uptvote!
