My first Parallel Lives deck, using Splicers, Intangible Virtue and Mimic Vat.
I had trouble getting a nice mana curve here.
In the early game Doomed Traveler, Flayer Husk and
Myr Sire
should stop the aggro.Later with either token enchantment outside, they're still useful, and can also be sacrificed to Birthing Pod.That one is pretty useful with the splicers, especially if you have Parallel Lives or Mimic Vat outside. As you probably see i tried to build up a chain for that one.
Every single of the Planeswalker's abilities suit greatly to this deck.Although they're awesome they could probably get cut for something else, though.
Overall the cards all interact pretty nicely with each other.
The deck seems alright now, but i'm still unsure about the quantity of some cards.
The sideboard could probably be better and is somewhat random i admit.
I originally started this deck with some sacrifice outlets along with the 'Standard
Tukatongue Thallid
s' and Morbid cards, particularly
Caravan Vigil
(as a somewhat reliable free ramp) and Skirsdag High Priest (who seemed pretty awesome in a deck that could create so many tokens - and potentially two 5/5s if you manage to activate his ability).
Edit: The deck changed a good bit since i released it.
This looks complete for now, so i removed the Maybeboard.
It now barely has any Splicers left, uses Viridian Emissary as ramp,
Mortarpod
to ping some creatures and along with Flayer Husk provide some equipments for Kemba, Kha Regent.
Mentor of the Meek should already have been on the list earlier and now provides card advantage.
Hero of Bladehold brings some pressure for this deck, especially when imprinted on Mimic Vat, and even more with one of the enchantments outside. To get it imprinted, it can be sacced with one of the pods (
Mortarpod
or Birthing Pod).
Birthing Pod still does a neat job, especially since most targets leave something when they die:
Germ token -> Doomed Traveler (Flayer Husk or
Mortarpod
is left)
Doomed Traveler -> Viridian Emissary/Myrsmith (leaves a 1/1 flying Spirit)
Viridian Emissary -> Blade Splicer/Mentor of the Meek/Kemba, Kha Regent (fetches a basic land)
Blade Splicer -> Hero of Bladehold (leaves a 3/3 Golem)
Hero of Bladehold -> Geist-Honored Monk (leaves the Soldier tokens it made so far and can be imprinted on Mimic Vat)
Geist-Honored Monk ->
Essence of the Wild
(leaves two 1/1 flying Spirits)
Essence of the Wild
turns every little token or otherwise cheap creature into a 6/6.Pretty much any card in the deck is just plain cruel with him:Myrsmith, Kemba, Hero of Bladehold, Garruk, and especially Elspeth can constantly create multiple tokens.Intangible Virtue turns them into vigilant 7/7s and Parallel Lives doubles their amount.
Bonus points for Doomed Travelers you might have left on the field or living weapons in your hand.
The only buzzkill here is the bombo with Mentor of the Meek, but even that is still a 6/6 for three mana, so you probably don't have to worry too much about that at this point.
