Main Rant: I've been wanting to make a new control deck for awhile; something along U/W/X. I thought I could do R/W/U Miracles, but I felt that the deck lacked consistency (although I had no Jace's at the time :P). I thought I could do W/U/B Esper Control, but it really just lacks overall in the current format (although I do have a new brew I'm kicking around in my head that doesn't even use tokens, but I'll stick to my comment on current Esper until further notice). I could make B/W/G Junk Control/Reanimator, but I'm not really feeling that deck either even though it uses one of my favorite Black cards: Unburial Rites. So I tossed something else together I never tried before for W/U/X Control, and that is the inclusion of Green! Yep, I'm trying out G/W/U Bant for change, and whipped together my own decklist. I figured it'd make sense since a lot of good creatures are coming out of Green that can really help out Control. So far, playtesting has been showing phenomenal results!

Deck Tech: So...

Bomb creatures that carry synergy: Check!
Sweet mana base: Check!

Notice there's a lot of "3-of's" in the deck... the magic number for this deck it seems.

4th place out of 9 participants.

Round 1: I (barely) lost 0-2 against R/W/U Miracles. Nearly the same damn list that Todd Anderson used to take 1st place in the recent Cincy Open. He added a Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius and Augur of Bolas to the list, and increased Entreat the Angels to 4-of. He then went on how the deck was solely his idea... even though I told him I was thinking about playing it for shits and giggles way before, then goes on that he didn't "net-deck", and that we should both run the same list he runs, and G/W Humans "ain't shit to worry about"... and proceeds to lose to that very same deck in the final round. Just... wow. lol

Round 2: I won 2-0 against Mono-W Humans. The games were close honestly, but when I got the blink engine going, shit went south for my opponent.

Round 3: I (barely) lost 0-2 against G/W Humans (ironically the exact same list that won the Open @ New Orleans, RI the same night). M a n a f l o o d e d like a cunt until his Sublime Angel hit the battlefield. Game Over. sigh

Round 4: I got a "Bye"... what a boring note to end on.
