TL; DR: "Ghost Dad + Haakon Rock + B/G Aggro"
HaakonShrike is an aggro-control deck resistant to both aggro, control, and milling. Synergies are as follows:
1) Haakon and Evershrike can reanimate themselves without dedicated reanimation spells. Evershrike & Rancor is a 6/4 flyer for 3 mana that is Doom Blade resistant... and with Rancor's "return to hand" ability, they'll need Worldfire to get rid of that threat.
2) The Gloom Surgeon s, Strangleroot Geist s, Fauna Shamans, and Thieves of Hope can stall the game until those are set up. Gloom Surgeon + Rancor (4/1 Trample, takes no combat damage) is a nightmare for the opponent, and will require them to burn removal on it.
3) Getting Haakon or Shrike in the grave is simple - Raven's Crime targeting yourself, Liliana's +1 and Smallpox can send them to the grave... or you can either tutor OR bin them with Fauna Shaman.
4) Once Haakon is in play, Nameless Inversion becomes repeatable (as it's a "knight"), and will trigger the life drain of Thief of Hope (as it's a "Spirit"). Don't forget to turn your Rancor-Evershrike into a Flying 9/1 for the kill.
5) Thief of Hope is the second backbone of the deck. Soulshift ability allows you to reuse Gloom Surgeon , Strangleroot Geist or Nameless Inversion before the engine starts. And his triggered life drain ability will proc on all 4 of those (including other Thieves) and if you actually hardcast Evershrike .
6) Smallpox , Liliana's -2 and Garruk's -1 can stave off most normal attacks. Also, Garruk's +1 empowers your early game mana, or makes sure you always have enough for a Smallpox or Inversion
7) Life from the Loam - Raven's Crimecombo will take care of control decks. Both are perfectly fine getting pitched to Liliana's or Smallpox's "symmetrical" discard.
8) For card advantage, having LftL, Raven's Crime, Haakon, Nameless Inversion and Evershrike in the graveyard is just as good as having them in your hand. Counterspells are temporary setbacks.
This deck took many elements from both obscure and proven decks such as Wirecat's Haakon Rock (2012), Tim Bulger's Ghost Dad (2006), and Mike Cannon's B/G Aggro (2012).
