My Pako/Haldan deck has gone through a few slightly different versions, but has always kept its reputation of being a menace at the table. My first version of the deck was a spellslinger that ran things like Genesis Storm, Fury Storm (just imagine fury storming a genesis storm lol), Swarm Intelligence, Mind's Dilation, Twining Staff, Thousand-Year Storm and you get the idea. The deck was super fun to pilot and I keep thinking of going back to that version because I can just pull it out for any mid-high game, but I started making changes to it because I felt like I didn't get Pako out fast enough in games where I didn't hit a ramp spell, a Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, or any combination of ramp. I started adding mana dorks and removing creatures like Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, Seedborn Muse, Rashmi, Eternities Crafter and the like because it's a feels bad moment of epic proportions when you exile one of those things with Pako. I didn't run that many creatures to begin with, like 8 or 9, so it was easy to just replace everything with dorks.

Going down that route had me looking at cedh Pako decks and I wanted to give deck a shot so I converted it into a midrange cedh by adding more fast mana, free counters, things like Time Twister, LED+Breach, Brain Freeze, etc, and it held its own and won a few games, but I didn't like the idea of not being able to just play Pako/Haldan outside of cedh so I toned it down a bit and this is the version you see here. It still runs all the dorks, fast mana, optimized lands, and a wincon (besides Pako beating face) of Mystical Tutor+Seasons Past+Temporal Manipulation/Time Warp. I consider that combo a fair way of winning in a 7/8 power pod (power levels being totally arbitrary but that's another convo) because it takes 12 mana to get that off the ground and people at that level should be running removal, right lol?

If you're debating what deck to build next, or you're looking to build your first deck and just want to have fun then I strongly consider any version of Pako/Haldan because trust me you won't be disappointed with that decision!
