Hallar hits hard and fast, and is a major threat in every game I play him in. This is the deck I hand friends who are new and want to try out edh, so if you're looking for a deck to start out with, maybe this is the right deck for you. It does have enough nuance and power to entertain an experienced player as well though. This is one of my favorite decks.

Quickly grow Hallar and then double or triple both the damage from him triggering off kicker spells and his combat damage with Gratuitous Violence or Fiery Emancipation. This plus any other burn or secondary finishers like Comet Storm or Quartzwood Crasher should take out major chunks of health before a few of the decks at the table have even started setting up effectively
