Creature (4)

Humans have it rough in MTG. They share a multiverse with vampires, zombies, demons, werewolves, phyrexians, and dragons. Luckily they stick together.

Ironically humans are the most represented characters in MTG, yet they are one of the most underdeveloped tribes in the game. It is my goal with this budget deck to explore the resources of this tribe that we all can identify with.

The Ideal play.

Turn 1. Play Champion of the Parish.

Turn 2. Play Gather the Townsfolk, which gives Champion of the Parish two +1/+1 counters. Swing for three.

Turn 3. Play Thalia's Lieutenant, making Champion of the Parish a 5/5 and the other two tokens both 2/2. Swing for nine.

Turn 4. Play Mayor of Avabruck   and give every human +1/+1. Swing for 16, dealing a total of 28 damage!

An alternative play.

Turn 1. Play Champion of the Parish.

Turn 2. Play Hamlet Captain, swing for two.

Turn 3. Play Mayor of Avabruck  , swing for eight.

Turn 4. Swing for 10, dealing a total of 20 damage!

The final possible play.

Turn 1. Play Soldier of the Pantheon.

Turn 2. Play Thalia's Lieutenant, swing for three.

Turn 3. Play Gather the Townsfolk, swing for six.

Turn 4. Play Mayor of Avabruck   and swing for lethal damage!

Card Breakdown

Champion of the Parish: Has great potential to apply alot of pressure in the early game.

Gather the Townsfolk: Has amazing synergy with Thalia's Lieutenant and Champion of the Parish. Can even serve as a way to recover from a board wipe if low on life points.

Thalia's Lieutenant: Critical for the weenie swarm strategy.

Mayor of Avabruck  : A substitute for Thalia's Lieutenant and provides strong aggro even when transformed.

Soldier of the Pantheon: The best substitute for Champion of the Parish I could find. Provides decent early aggro and has the potential for life gain.

Hamlet Captain: Second turn substitute for Gather the Townsfolk for synergistic aggro.

Path to Exile: Great removal, and since both of the third turn drops cost only two, works great to remove bothersome blockers. Can also be used on the opponents turn to prevent Mayor of Avabruck   from transforming.

Hyena Umbra: Can be used for aggro security on turn three.

Ranger of Eos: Great backup to recover form a board wipe like Wrath of God or Supreme Verdict. Use it to grab Champion of the Parish and Boros Elite to reestablish board dominance.

Return to the Ranks: Great for retrieving Thalia's Lieutenant and Mayor of Avabruck   to the field.

Side Board

The side board is a work in progress.

Auriok Champion: Hoses red aggro.

Stony Silence: For affinity.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben: Helps with counterspells and combo/control decks.
