There's no reason to play Spark Jolt , even though it works iwth Turn to Frog .
Rather play Shock or just Lightning Strike

July 29, 2014 2:15 p.m.

I am keeping Shock out because it will soon no longer be standard, as to why I am not running Electrickery either. And as for Lightning Strike , I want something to keep my mana cost down because Turn to Frog is a 2 drop, and Spark Jolt is a 1 drop, which basically gives me the equivalent mana cost of a Murder . I don't want to have to spend 4 mana to kill 1 creature. Thanks though. And Spark Jolt gives me that Scry ability.

Phyrexian Revoker is an amazing artifact creature.

IATEAREPUBLICAN I agree that it is an awesome card but maybe a sideboard card at best rather than a main board card. What do you think of the deck?

August 2, 2014 6:38 p.m.

I've personally been loving the artificer decks. However, there are a couple cards I don't think fit here too well. First, I would drop Courser of Kruphix. Instead, if you need the mana, I'd play Sylvan Caryatid . He's only one Green mana symbol too. I also don't think that the Polymorphist's Jest/Stoke the Flames combo is too necessary here. Instead, I would max out on Chief Engineer. Also, with those extra cards, I would put in Bident of Thassa . Its way too good. Maybe just two. And even Thassa, God of the Sea might be nice to make your Doom Engine in lockable and make sure that it dies from your Shrapnel Blast or you Life's Legacy instead. Otherwise, Illusory Angel is iffy. But I like it. Good job man!

August 2, 2014 6:45 p.m.

IATEAREPUBLICAN was thinking about Sylvan Caryatid , just need to get some. I was thinking about also swapping out 2 of the Illusory Angel for 2 more Chief Engineer , but I'm conflicted as Illusory Angel helps with Life's Legacy for card draw and helps get me more flying into play. Polymorphist's Jest isn't supposed to combo with Stoke the Flames , Stoke the Flames is supposed to be the finishing touch on turn 5 after I hit them for 17 damage in 1 turn and the finish them with the extra 4. The original combo I has was Polymorphist's Jest + Scouring Sands . I wasn't too sure about Thassa, God of the Sea or how many to put in. My next question is how do you feel about my land base?

August 2, 2014 6:53 p.m.

Oh I must have been thinking of a different card then, my bad. But honestly, I would just go with three of each scry land and like 2 Yavimaya Coast and stay with how many Shivan Reef you've got. That's about all you need to spend on that. Just tweak the basic lands after that. Also 4 Darksteel Citadels obviously.

August 2, 2014 7 p.m.

Thanks for the input IATEAREPUBLICAN, I'll work on getting those together. I'm going to ponder for a bit about getting 2 Sylvan Caryatid and after play testing, I'll debate on replacing the 2 Illusory Angel for 2 Chief Engineer . Thanks again for the input.

I think you missed a great combo :o maybe you've noticed it already, but Polymorphist's Jest is a great combo with Scuttling Doom Engine (aka the spider thing from wild wild west) because it makes sure all their creatures are tiny and can't block it!! xD

August 4, 2014 12:22 a.m.

hekjek Yeah, I realized that combo, after I added it in there. I originally wanted Polymorphist's Jest to go along with Scouring Sands but realized it has a better purpose, it can help my Scuttling Doom Engine attack and land the hit as well as all my flying creatures. It worked out pretty sweetly.

Im looking at the deck and I don't get the green splash. It messes with your mana and its only 4 cards. You might as well just drop green, fix up the mana. Add Stormbreath Dragon and some blue card draw. Bident of Thassa or Military Intelligence works. Also the Angels are great with your mana ramp drums and generators.

I agree with dropping green. I applaud you for trying something different than everyone else's straight UR versions, but I don't think green is the color. You're really not getting any extra value from green that you couldn't get with the other two colors. Life's Legacy can be replaced with any blue card draw spell, Hunter's Prowess can be replaced with Armed / Dangerous or Madcap Skills . As for the courser, it depends what you're trying to get out of it (i.e.: lifegain, defense, card advantage). If you were to splash a color besides UR, I'd robably go with either Black or White. Both give you excellent removal, defense, and/or lifegain while card advantage already comes from Blue. Anyway, hope I'm making sense here. Good luck with your deck building, I have made an artifact deck as well if you care to check it out: Aggrifacts. I had been thinking about making another color splash too.

August 6, 2014 10:39 a.m.

Edit: Sorry, that's not my deck lol, just same name. Aggrifacts. That one is mine. :P

August 6, 2014 10:42 a.m.

Thanks for your suggestions CrovaxTheCursed, I decided to do away with the green. I do however want to keep this post rotation as it will allow this deck to remain in standard for quite some time. I did some changes, and was wondering what you think. My thinking behind it is that, I have the mainboard for decks that play aggro creature based decks, and the sideboard is there for people who use more of the latter (sorcery/instant/enchantment) type decks. All while keeping the main essence of the deck intact.

August 6, 2014 7:37 p.m.

Oh wow, the new list looks great. I love the addition of Stormbreath Dragon . You're definitely on the right path mainboarding for aggro and sideboarding for control. Plus the Dragon is a nightmare for control anyway. Normally I wouldn't say keep Circle of Flame mainboard, but seeing as how it wrecks Elspeth tokens, I think you're right on base.

CrovaxTheCursed Thanks. What do you think about Purphoros, God of the Forge in this deck? Would it be too slow? It's something that I've been thinking about.

August 7, 2014 10:48 a.m.

I would say yes, Purphoros seems too slow for this build. With only 20 creatures and Purp being a 4 drop, I don't think he'd be effective enough. Bear in mind that when Ensouling an Artifact, it would not trigger Purphoros. Even though it would become a creature, it would already be on the battlefield, thus missing the trigger. Now if you were running White, you'd have options for Tokens which might make Purphoros viable, but definitely not worth the splash just for that. I'm thinking Khans of Tarkir will have some good token spells for red like a reprint of Krenko's Command or something of the sort.

August 7, 2014 11:43 a.m.

CrovaxTheCursed Alright thanks. That's what I was thinking too.

I think Keranos, God of Storms is a great fit for the deck as a 1-2of. He will give tones of value in the deck!

August 8, 2014 2:17 a.m.

Jojja I personally feel that Keranos, God of Storms will just slow things down a bit. I need to be dishing out a bunch of damage all at once. And yes, Keranos is a certified badass (a CBA if you will), I might end up trying him in the deck in the future, maybe cut down Thassa to 1 and add 1 of Keranos in. Who knows, but for now, I would like to keep both Thassa's in here because having 2 offers a higher chance of drawing her, but not drawing too much of her. Thanks for your suggestion.

MrKnify I guess that was a compliment? Lol. I'll take it.

I'm not sure stormbreath is worth it. By forcing him in there you're denying yourself a lot of your key early game pressure.

August 8, 2014 8:13 p.m.

How so Xenoither? When he can come out as early as Turn 3.
