I would drop the artifact lands, and just add in regular ones. You don't want a bunch of your lands blown up by a Vandalblast. Also it seems to need more draw power, stuff like Prosperity, Skyscribing, and Molten Psyche work really well.

I would also add my favorite card in my Nekusar deck Teferi's Puzzle Box, its incredible!

Psychosis Crawler, Kederekt Parasite, Barbed Shocker, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth are fantastic creatures for this type of deck.

Also i would throw in a Ghost Quarter to get rid of that pesky Reliquary Tower, forcefeeding is no good if they have no hand size limit.

I would argue that no hand size limit is great when you can force them to discard their hand with Megrim, Liliana's Caress or Waste Not out.

booman27 - Curiosity may eventually make it into here if I get past my hate for auras as my creatures will normally die and even more so if such a card is on them. Damnable Pact has it uses but it only takes out one player and I rather use Minds Aglow for such effect because it can kill everyone but I don't run either because wheels are more effective mana wise.

Valentine35 - I run artifact lands because of Molten Psyche, Tezz, and Mox Opal to maximize their use. Vandalblast can be a problem however I have yet to see it be used so I don't have to worry about that. Molten Psyche is already in here and I dislike draw X cards because wheels are much more effective mana wise. Maybe if there was a X draw card that also discarded the cards I would have ran them otherwise this deck already has plenty of draw. Teferi's Puzzle Box was in here but I took it out in favor of more wheels as I like to control when a shuffle/wheel goes off which Puzzle Box didn't allow me to control. Psychosis Crawler was taken out as it was lackluster for its mana cost but it might find its way back in if Niv doesn't prove to be a big enough asset. Kederekt Parasite was in here but I don't like the fact it needs Nekusar or the recently added Niv to have any use. Barbed Shocker requires combat damage and usually by the time I play it everyone will have blockers up and it will never get through not to mention I almost never attack with this deck. Seizan, Perverter of Truth saw play in here in the first and second version of this deck but he was "meh" for me for the same reasons why Howling Mine and friends are not in here. Like Mind said Reliquary Tower is no problem at all and is usually a benefit and everyone runs it anyway so one Ghost Quarter is not going to stop the other 2 players from playing it and some even run Spellbook in addition to it.

Thanks for the comments you guys! :3

A) Damnable Pact

B) How the hell did you make it snow?!?!?! That's so fricking amazing!

FAMOUSWATERMELON - Damnable Pact was already denied in the post above you for reasons I already have explain and if I need more card draw I would probably add in Curiosity first because of its combo with certain cards in the deck. As for the snowing... I used Magic, Snow-Covered Lands, and plenty of JavaScript. :3

Although if it was instant speed or effected everyone (or better yet I get to choose multiple targets) I would have probably have consider it. :3

Are you going to put the snowfall on this deck?

April 2, 2015 7:14 p.m.

Blizzicane says... #8

klone13 - It already was added to this page is it just that it takes awhile to fall down this far into the page so you will only really see it when your at the description. I just increased the amount of snow and the rate of snow that falls hopefully it doesn't tax other users' CPU too much but if it does I will just reset it back. :3

Have you ever considered Mana Web or Meishin, the Mind Cage? Both offer the potential for some very nice control over counter-mana and creatures respectively. I'm not entirely sure how they would function in a Nekusar deck over all and I'm a little curious myself. Also, I noticed that in a previous version you had Venser's Journal but have since removed it. What was the reason behind that, out of curiosity?

April 5, 2015 11:30 a.m.

Blizzicane says... #10

Podma101 - Meekstone would see play before Meishin because the latter is a bit too expensive for what it does while Meek will keep opponents at bay because they wouldn't want their creatures to stay eternally tapped. Mana Web is interesting but I don't have any room for it as this build is more all in and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir is in the side in case of such decks as it completely shuts off instant speed removal and counterspells while providing a body.

I removed Venser's Journal because its more of a pure life gain card than anything else that doesn't really leave a impact in my life total until I am already winning. While gaining life is great I rather be spending my mana to accelerate to my wincon as I have to funnel mana into it, it doesn't save me from commander damage and infinite combos not to mention gaining a ton of life will attract the entire aggro of the board since my defenses are not the strongest. Sure its a Reliquary Tower as well but I already have those benefits on 2 other cards (one being the tower itself) and usually when I am at the point of having a ton of cards in my hand I am probably going to win the game that turn or the very next one. Thanks for the suggestions! :3

Oh crap! I guess never in my time using this as an example while tweaking my own Nekusar deck did I notice Meekstone! I can see exactly why that is here and I've made a point to get that now lol. And I see what you're saying about Venser's Journal. I myself was somewhat reserved about it which is why I was curious. Thank you for your opinion!

How the hell do you do this awesome formatting?

MAGESTIC_LLAMA I used Magic, Snow-Covered Lands, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, BlindGuardian's Wisdom, Dropbox, my namefont, etc. :3

The best part is snow fits Nekusar so well, if only I could figure out how to make to edit the comment/description boxes to make them a bit transparent. XP

Well someone knows how to code. But honestly it makes it really hard to read the comments and description. Looks really cool though.

sirbar - I will tone the the background a bit so it will be easier to see. Right now I am in the bug fixes stage. XP

Well here is a bug, my tabs at the top disappeared Specifically the deck folder, notifications, broadcast and profile one. I like it though, if you get it working maybe you could teach me? :P

sirbar - What browser are you using? I messed with the Tappedout formatting to fix the navigation menu from taking up too much space but it seems to have cause more problems than fixes for browsers outside of Firefox and Chrome (non-mobile versions). Probably going to revert it for now. XP

Blizzicane says... #18

Problems Solved! I still have to change my spoilers to work across all browsers and I have to somehow fix Tappedout's navigation bar layout without breaking it in 3 other browsers but other than that I think I am good in the bug department. :3

So how is Nek running without pillowfort (i.e Propaganda/Smoke/Dream Tides/Crawlspace/Overburden/ect. ect) and more speed? Playtested my Brago, King Eternal flicker deck which has plenty of ramp and the slow Nek just doesn't seem to cut it. Granted my Nek is tailored to multiplayer not 1v1, I'm thinking of following your footsteps.

April 8, 2015 4:48 p.m.

Blizzicane says... #20

Flagellum I run an extensive amount of mana ramp which is where the more speed comes from and to make space for such ramp I had to lose the pillow fort which made this deck better imo as I no longer took extra turns to go off and the longer the game goes on the more of a chance I had to lose with Nekusar as the card advantage opponents get will eventually be my downfall if I don't win as soon as possible. If I am lucky I can win by turn 3-4 but that requires a god hand so usually I win by turn 6-8 factoring in me losing Nekusar at least once and various other cards that opponents destroy that I own. I wouldn't run Nekusar in normal 1v1 as there are much better options out there and this list is geared towards multiplayer but I do sometimes play 1v1 due to lack of players at the time and he has preformed reasonable well. :3

Flagellum says... #21

Yeah, I wouldn't run a tri-colored deck for competitive 1v1 not only because it may be slower due to mana fixing but the fact that lands are so expensive. Nekusaur was my first EDH deck and hasn't felt much love since my other adventures and wanted to see how it would fair. Nekusar seemed to be the bane of everyone's existence (with the exception of my group's Maralen of the Mornsong gimmick deck...ugh) in my meta but I can see now that speed is more important than pillowfort especially after playing against non-aggro decks where suddenly 15 cards or so become useless.

Would you lump cards like Anvil of Bogardan in with the same group as Howling Mine? I was on the fence about this one anyhow but it at least forces a discard.

Found some other 2 drop counters that you probably already knew about:

Negate: for noncreature spells

Memory Lapse: which is a weaker Hinder

Confound: to counter Nekusar removal and draws a card

Perplex: while a 3 drop, it is also a tutor for something like Megrim or Chromatic Lantern. It could cause an opponent to discard their hand, though unlikely.

Great deck, why don't you include liliana? She provides easy discard

No problems. It looks like you even fixed the background in the comments so that its easier to read. Looks cool mate.

Flagellum - Actually, three color decks are the most competitive decks in EDH 1v1 (and Dual Commander) tourneys and competitive groups compared to two, single, and five due to the amount of options you can get from three colors and its not hard to get the colors you want if you can shin out the money for it. Personally, I play with Semi-Competitive and a few Competitive and casual players. Anvil of Bogardan is lumped together with Howling Mine because I can't control the opponents draw despite it giving a discard bonus, but I must said it was the very last one of its kind to be cut because of that effect. I use my counterspells strictly for countering game ending threats or anything that would comprise my board severely, I leave the other threats for my opponents to deal with. I not going to add any of the suggested counterspells because I simply don't need anymore other than Force of Will and Mana Drain which will replace existing spells and I might get rid of Lightning Greaves because it doesn't stop wrath and that new land that negates it for another counterspell. Regardless thanks for the suggestions. :3

Mtgplayer123123 - The reason I didn't include Lilly because her other abilities are quite meh in EDH and I would rather use mass discard cards rather than single, kinda like why I don't run single mass draw outside of Temple Bell which is here for its combo and I can control it. Thanks for the suggestion anyway! :3

sirbar - Thanks! :3
