oakenshild - Hmmm you do have a point but 1 mana vs 3 mana even with mana rocks is still an issue if only it cost 2 mana instead then I would put it in no questions asked but I guess I will test it as well and see which one I prefer if any of them as spot removal is still a thing. :3

Hey, I ran a Nekusar deck a while ago, and I have just started rebuilding because I had nothing to do with the bulk rares in the deck and that it was a really fun deck. I do however know a few different enchantments that can completely end the game in a turn or two.

  • Clout of the Dominus and Diplomatic Immunity: Both protect Nekusar for little mana, I prefer the Clout, but Diplomatic is much harder to get off.

  • Phyresis and Glistening Oil: They can end the game with a single Wheel of Fortune and a Temple Bell. Glistening Oil is actually much better in this deck, because your opponent simply can't get rid of it without anything shy of a Return to Dust.

  • Helm of the Ghastlord: It is essentially a curiosity that gives Nekusar +2/+2. But the best part is that when attached to Nekusar or Fate Unraveler, that whenever an opponent draws a card, they must discard a card immediately, only for you to draw a card. So casting a wheel makes your opponents NEVER able to draw a card.

  • Elder Mastery: Although it is a bit more mana than the previously mentioned, elder mastery doesn't even require the mill effect. Because when they draw, they'll discard two cards, enough draw will shutdown the entire table, all in one fell swoop.

cfl789 - I prefer counterspells instead of Clout and Diplomatic because they are more flexible plus they can't stop wraths and aren't reusable as Lightning Greaves. I should have added infect to the I don't want section, for reasons I will repeat once more. The reasons I don't run those effects is because if I don't get in two wheels and it gets removed/interrupted (someone removes the enchantment or creature after the first wheel) then all the damage I dealt with the first wheel is completely nullify because I can no longer deal infect damage and usually by the time I am ready to cast two wheels at once I am usually already setup to win on regular damage alone since I will have other ways to damage the oppenent. Helm of the Ghastlord is not in here because it only really does things with Nekusar and with other creatures its just an overpriced Curiosity which I am still retesting but even that hasn't pleased me yet. Elder Mastery is already in the cards I won't add again list because it is too expensive CMC wise and is an aura that can be lose easily. I would probably play Helm before that but the problem with those two cards is that the opponent can easily take care of such a high profile threat on their upkeep if they are tappedout during my turn costing me 2 for 1 and I don't have enough counterspells to fight the entire table's removal. Thanks for the suggestions anyway :3

Forced Fruition? I've had a Nekusar deck in the past and landing this on the table results in pretty hilarious, game-ending situations lol

CheeseBro - Thanks! I used CSS to make this background. :3

xakack - I used it in the past as well but if a damage dealer goes missing and it still on the field all that card advantage is going to bite me back (I should have added it to the "Don't Want" list instead of just label it as a Howling Mine card). Thanks for the suggestion anyway! :3

FAMOUSWATERMELON - I got 99 upvotes but yeago's ain't one of them. XP

Hai Everyone, I am here to answer the growing amount of comments its just that I have been very busy lately so I haven't had much time to come to Tappedout recently and I have to do something so I will make this quick. :3

ninjaman16782 - Glacial Chasm could be useful except it would be useless until late game because I can pretty much tank/wrath every thing with 40 life unless I am getting focused down right off the bat. Wish it had a way to "Flash" it in so I could use it in a pinch. Journal and Ivory gain me life but 40 is usually enough with this build unless my hand was terrible but gaining tons of life just attracts even more attention and it doesn't save you from infinite combo, infect, nor commander damage.

CheeseBro - Forced Fruition was denied somewhere on this page earlier because I could not control it the same way I can't control Howling Mine. Jace's Archivist suffers from slowness, meaning that unlike a wheel I can't just draw into him and activate him that turn which turn up to be critical in situations. Jace's ult would be insane but in EDH getting an Ult off is nigh impossible outside of a deck with Doubling Season or Superfriends. Damnable Pact targets only one player but I need it to target all of them because if I don't kill everyone in one go then I will probably die soon after, Blue Sun's Zenith is the same deal. I would rather run Phyrexian Arena before Bloodgift. Incendiary Command is worst than all my other wheels imo so it got chopped. Barbed Shocker won't fit in here because of the need to hit someone with it and everyone always has a blocker ready unless wrath happened but at that point I rather just have a wheel.

goblinguiderevealpls Chains would be pretty sweet with discard enchantments it would probably replace Sire Of Insanity if I were ever to run it/afford it. Sigil of Sleep is one of those cards that are on the boarder line for me because it only cost one mana but because I hate nearly all auras because of getting 2 for 1 and they are quite useless without creatures even more so in this deck since it runs very few and the only cards that can take advatage of that card is Nekusar/Fate/Niv. Right now I am playing around with Curiosity and I haven't even been able to take advantage of it once without it either being a dead draw or me winning before I could even make use of it. Also, the only time I wheel is if I am going to win the game or even if I wheel no one could do anything to kill me next turn and I am also going to win next turn or my hand is just that bad. So for me I wouldn't add it in as creatures are not a treat if I am going to win and if they are a problem then you could add more wrath or Meekstone.

That finishes it, thanks everyone for the feedback I probably won't be on again until 16+ hours. :3

ok, thanks for the considersation, but i still dont see the problem with Jace's Archivist. It gives you lots of repeatable wheels for just 1 mana. It also goes infinite with Mind Over Matter.

Blizzicane says... #21

CheeseBro - My only problem with him is that I can't use his ability the sec I get him due to lack of haste. So I can't use him in a pinch or chain wheels with him if I draw into him while trying to win. So I rather have a wheel which are more flexible and can't die to removal as well. But he does see use in my Chaos EDH deck. X3

Whoa, love the formatting on this page. Have you tried Dream Halls in your deck? With all the wheel effects, its usually pretty easy to have something to discard.
