Snapping Gnarlid would be better than Jaddi Offshoot in this deck since the offshoot has defender and can never attack. If you want to be the aggressor all the time, defenders will often hurt the agro strategy.

Any luck with it? I've been running G/W Scales for the past 6 months, but I'm wanting to build a second deck around landfall. I really want to use Sw. of the Animist + Kazandu, but the results have been clunky and slow. Especially with 80% of players running Abzan

I'd replace Evolving Wilds with Windswept heath. Or leave 2x Wilds and replace 1 mtn, 1 forest, and one wilds with 3x Windswept heath. Possibly try to find a place for Swell of growth

@ GeminiSpartanX I agree. Jaddi Offshoot is in the list at the moment to deter weenie aggro builds (Ally builds are apparently real...) from swinging early. Also as a life gain engine. The deck can lay the beats early and easily already without another 2drop attacker. I feel where your going with it and Snapping Gnarlid is currently sleeved, as a 4of and just waiting for the chance to take the Offshoots spot. Still testing with it, but I think we share the same train of thought for the most part.
@ ryuushin Agreed, I simple have no Windswept Heath at the moment :) but as soon as I pick them up they will be replacing the Evolving Wilds. Testing with Swell of Growth actually slowed the build down, +2/+2 until end of turn is redundant in this build, and droping an extra land from my hand is obtainable with more return on investment for 2 mana with Atarka's Command I did test with the Swells though extensively to be sure. As for luck with the deck, In its current stage, it is VERY functional. It hits its conditions consistently and will 95% of the time have at least a single, if not multiple threats on board by turn 3 while buffing my life from the Lifegain landfall triggers. Currently very happy with the build.

xGhostxAwesome. I'll give it a try this weekend

Also GeminiSpartanX The offshoots make game 2 SB'ing alot easier on the fly, they are typically the first 4 to go in exchange for burn, or monsters depending on the situation.

Honestly not a whole lot I would change in this deck, looks great! Personally I would prolly just mainboard one Omnath cause you are gonna hit the mana for him and hes just fun to play lol If I had one criticism it would be that your sideboard doesn't seem to be gear towards a meta, maybe I'm wrong and you chose those cards specifically but I would work on the SB.

Potentially, but not sure what I would drop for it. The only thing would be Sword of the Animist and that card is just bonkers when it goes off in this build.

@ albino_ninja your 100% correct, the SB was just kinda mashed together with stuff I had lying around that was at arms reach lol.
I have not had much time to competitively test the deck at FNM's so once I do that I will certainly be regearing the SB.
I do really wanna run at least a single Omnath, Locus of Rage mainboard, that guy is just too crazy
Thanks for the comments!

I can for sure see the jank that would produce with Atarka's Command for landfall triggers, but I'm not sold on it replacing Sword of the Animist. The only times I would see it be really useful would be when I miss a land drop which rarely happens, or I have a Command in hand. Other then these scenarios the Sword just seems to fill a utility role better.
I may look back into this though. Thanks!

tempest I know right? I want to run 1,2 hell even 3 maybe, but I am terrified of not hitting the Green drop turn 1. I mean I have 8 fetches, and 8 forests at the moment so its pretty consistent. Do you think I could safely drop to 6 Forests?
October 7, 2015 8:46 p.m.
Take out Bloodstained Mire before Windswept Heath. You should be fine. If not, just adjust later. Also be careful not to have too many fetches otherwise you might run out of fetchable lands

I'm not sure if Hardened Scales shouldn't just be another creature threat, or dropped to make room for removal. With only 8 cards in the deck interacting with it, it may not be worth the slot.

Playtesting shows it to be very powerful in the build. Going to run it at tonight's FNM and see how the deck preforms.

Whats everyone's thoughts on running 4x Abbot of Keral Keep Mainboard over the 4x Makindi Sliderunner????
The Sliderunner is nice, and the trample is good but in most combat situations I would rather have an Undergrowth Champion or a Grove Rumbler
The deck has the potential to stall turns 4/5 when not hitting a condition and hands empty. I think the Abbot may remedy this.
Thoughts?
October 9, 2015 7:21 a.m.
Brief testing does show a consistency improvement with running the 4x Abbot of Keral Keep Mainboard.
Will test more today in preparations for FNM

does Undergrowth Champion ever get troublesome without trample. Honestly, i think you can make a little room for Temur Battle Rage to seal the deal. that way you won't necessarily always have to have the champion or Grove Rumbler
October 9, 2015 9:09 a.m.
I agree.
Making room. I think I can drop 1x Hardened Scales and maybe 1x basic land, or even drop down to 3x Abbot of Keral Keep to run 2x Temur Battle Rage Mainboard
