Currently considering adjusting the sideboard and bringing Transgress the Mind to the main.

Have you considered putting in Servant of the Scale? He's good early game combos well with Hardened Scales. Plus when he dies those counters go on other creatures

Lunao: Huh. I had considered Servant of the Scale in a very early version of this deck before Theros cycled out, but it didn't make the cut back then. It might be worth exploring again to have more turn-1 options.

Managorger Hydra would be awesome here.

Emdimian Good call on Managorger Hydra, but I'm not sure what it would replace. I'm definitely gonna take a better crack at it once KTK/FRF cycle out, though.

Currently considering swapping 1x Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit and 1x Ob Nixilis Reignited for 2x Managorger Hydra.

After thinking about this some more last night, I'm considering swapping the following:

1x Ob Nixilis Reignited

1x Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit

1x Undergrowth Champion or 1x Enduring Scalelord

for

1x Hardened Scales

2x Managorger Hydra

The deck does well enough with three Hardened Scales, but getting multiple onto the battlefield has been so effective that I'd like to increase the chances of getting it out.

Yeah I actually tried it and I feel like Managorger works way better than Undergrowth :D

Emdimian: Nice! I'm definitely convinced to give this a go on Tuesday. Thanks for the suggestion!

Like the build :) I'm playing a similar one atm. Undergrowth Champion really underwhelmed me, personally I'd drop all four for a playset of Managorger Hydra. If you are playing the hydra, maybe try and find some space for Feat of Resistance, with Hardened Scales in play it counters removal and leaves you with 6 more counters on the hydra. I'm not sure about the Enduring Scalelord's, maybe swap with Dromoka's Command for a more aggressive feel. Here's my deck for comparison: Would you like a counter with that?

Sorry for the double post but I just looked through the decklist and found an utter lack of Avatar of the Resolute. Given how easy it is to drop the avatar as a 5/4 or 6/5 for 2 mana, it's really worth a slot.

DaftVader: Thanks! I've had great success with Undergrowth Champion, but I'm definitely willing to drop one to make room for Managorger Hydra. I hadn't considered the hydra + Feat of Resistance combo. It's in my maybeboard, but I might have to make some room for it.

Every time I've put Enduring Scalelord on the chopping block, it's managed to end up being a wincon. (shrug.gif) More and more, though, I feel like its days are numbered.

An older version of this deck ran Avatar of the Resolute, but it didn't work out well then. It might be worth considering again, though. And no worries about the double post. :-) Thanks again for the input!

The major issue with this deck is that you have cards with mana costs all across the board. you have a 2 drop that is WW, 3 drops that require BWG or 1BB or 1GG. you can easily drop some creatures to increase your count on creatures that are easier to cast. Also Enduring Scalelord is just a win more card. If you want to be able to consistently drop it you should likely consider increasing your land count by one to increase the liklehood of seeing enough mana to cast it on time. Also land drops work well with Undergrowth Champion. In what i have found this deck can really only win against a top tear deck if you hit Hardened Scales on turn 1. you need to increase the count to 4 of them. I would drop the Ruinous Path and replace it with Murderous Cut. I don't really like Languish here as its likely to hurt you more than it hurts them as there are only a few creatures that it won't kill. Dromoka's Command is super strong right now and i think needs to be in the main. I also think that Hangarback Walker is in a really bad spot right now with so many enchantments and exiling effects that people are mainboarding so just know that playing them is a very big risk in that they likely have a clean answer for them.

Gabtuls: It's funny you mention Languish, I was just thinking of potentially replacing that with Feat of Resistance when I add Managorger Hydra.

Ruinous Path is there mostly for Planeswalker removal, but it's also an easy swap when I side. I tried Murderous Cut early on, but I didn't find it very effectiveeven at instant speed. Might be worth considering, though.

Agreed about Hangarback Walker. Like Ruinous Path, it's an easy swap when I side if my opponent has answers.

I hadn't considered adding an extra land, but I think you're onto something. Gonna have to give that some more thought.

Thanks for the suggestions!

The deck is performing better with the last updates. I'm currently considering replacing the last Siege Rhinos with two Shambling Vents after proxying them in after last night's tournament. The two extra lands were helpful, especially later in the game using them as creatures. I'll need to test some more, but I have a feeling this change will happen soon.

It's too bad OGW isn't out yet, because Hissing Quagmire (ext. link) is a better option than Shambling Vent....

you have a LOT of legendaries my friend. You may want to consider cutting how many you have. Good luck with the deck though! looks nice!

bananaboms: Thanks! Very true regarding legendaries, but surprisingly it hasn't been an issue. Usually the "spares" wind up being rapid replacements when removed or, at the very least, used to trigger Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit's bolster ability. Spreading the options among them has also been helpful.

I have not built a deck with so many, so I can't judge, I have just heard it could be a problem. Good luck with the deck!
