You are aware that you can’t pay life if you don’t have enough life to pay even if Phyrexian Unlife is on the battlefield, right? Just making sure so Harrison doesn’t get into an awkward situation later ;)

AT23 I know, I added a few lifegain cards in to make sure I didn't run out of life to spend. Thanks for the heads up though, I do appreciate it! :P Although I'm not sure if what I have is really enough, it's hard to playtest a deck on this site when it doesn't give you an opponent XD

Hey keizerbuns, I like your deck! I’m not sure if you are on a budget, but I have a few suggestions you may like:

I would move the Surgical Extraction to the sideboard and drop the Cathedral Membrane and Phyrexian Arenas. In their place I would run 4 Street Wraith for “free” drawing and include 4 Thoughtseize to preemptively remove threats.

I would also include at least 2 Bitterblossom on the sideboard to boost your defensive capabilities against decks with flyers. I don’t see any creature removal in the 75. You may want to make room for a few Dismember too.

You could also run fetchlands like Marsh Flats and mainboard some Godless Shrines. I know this is a lot of life loss, so you may have excluded these for that reason. Also, the fetchlands allow you to search for Witch's Cottage if you need to bring back a Death's Shadow.

AT23 unfortunatley I don't have much money anymore after buying the cards, but maybe in the future I'll give MTGO a try :P

zAzen7977 Thanks for the suggestions, I really like them! Unfortunately I am on a bit of a budget, but I will still try out the suggestions you gave me on here. I do have some creature removal in the form of dealing straight damage to creature's using Rage Extractor and Font of Agonies, but perhaps I need something more direct like you suggested.

Solemnity pairs nicely with Phyrexian Unlife but I think might prevent spending life as mana.

Spoils of the Vault can bring a life total down fast.

I'd suggest mainboarding Dismember as Rage Extractor is too high MV to count on for removal.

Solemnity would be a really cool and although I’m not sure how it would prevent me from spending my life, it would prevent me from using my Font of Agonies and from putting counters on my Spawn of Mayhem.

I do really like Spoils of the Vault but I feel like there’s a very high chance that I would just end up killing myself with it way too often. I could give it a try though.

I agree that Dismember is a better removal spell than Rage Extractor, I just really like rage extractor.

It's been a pretty long time since I played a Solemnity lock, so I was struggling to remember how it worked. The issue is that you can't pay life you don't have, so while Solemnity can keep you in the game, once you're at or past 0 life, you can no longer continue to pay life, whether you're getting infect counters from Unlife or not.

I see what you mean kamarupa. I can still gain life with Solemnity on the battlefield though, right? Cause if I can still gain life to then use to pay for things with then that would be a really good way to win with this deck!

oh, ya, for sure you can still gain life with Solemnity on the battlefield.
