Havengul Graverobber

Standard* Combo Mill UB (Dimir)

This deck sort of looks like a train wreck, and I'm soliciting advice for improving it. However, it works very well in multiplayer games and better than you might think just looking at it.

Goals

  • Casual "Standard" multiplayer deck; not a deck for dueling.
  • Use my opponents' creatures against them.
  • Seek impressive wins: combo, big creatures, flashiness.

Strategy

Weird Interactions

Looking for specific advice

  • I want to tighten it up, make it more consistent and more inevitable.
  • I feel that some of the key cards in the deck I'm only running 2x or 3x, which feels weird.
  • I feel like I have a few singletons that may or may not be contributing. Deathrite Shaman provides a lot of value, can ramp, can do some damage, can mitigate their graveyard, but is he needed? What about the 1x Snapcaster Mage - he's pretty awesome but maybe I've already won by the time I want him. And should Essence Harvest just be Artful Dodge?
  • Should I splash Grixis?
  • Should I up the Crypt Ghast and play Griselbrand?

Credits

Although this was my own conception, it does bear a lot of similarities to "Welcome to Havengul Industries" (no longer online) by 10vernothin, so shout out to that build.

Also superficially similar to Woo Brews Black Tide: http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/woo-brews-black-tide-combo/

Suggestions

Updates Add

I've made the following updates:

-2x Heartless Summoning, +2x Crypt Ghastfoil
-2x Havengul Lich, +1x Griselbrand, +1x Rise of the Dark Realms
-3x Swamp, +3x Blood Cryptfoil
-1x Far / Away, +1x Murder

I realize Rise of the Dark Realms is a classic "win more" card, but since this deck is optimized for group casual play, I really want to resolve that spell at least once. :) If I need to make this more competitive for dueling I'll definitely not run that card...
