Loyal Retainers - could be a very good addition for the deck. And if You add Survival of the Fittest You can start by discarding any Legendary creature (for example Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite) tutor for Loyal Retainers, and reanimate Elesh Norn.

Have You consider Grasp of Fate?
-
Mana Vault, cuz it will increase speed of the deck

Far out! Do you know who it belongs to?
My Hazezon is in the very capable hands of Dustin Brossard right now and I'm dying to see what he creates.
I'll hit you up as soon as I get my greedy hands on it again!

Don’t know who it belongs to but it was done by Rocky Alters. He’s doing 4 cards for me right now for my Haakon deck so I was looking through his catalog. Def gonna need my hazezon altered for my eventual Dune-Brood deck. 100% show me that Brossard alter when you get it.

Oh don't you worry, ha ha. I'll be pimping that alter here more shamelessly than Cocaine Mitch is stacking those courts, baby!
I've seen a few sketches and worked with him a bit on the concept and it's gonna be sweeeeeet! Going to have some minor alterations done to the Unglued Soldier Tokens that I use as Sand Warriors too. Blue eyes and cloaks and whatnot.

Hey,
Quick question, if you wanted to up the power level of the deck, what would you add?
I'm asking because while I absolutely adore Hazezon, I'm having trouble making a deck that can do anything in a slightly more competitive meta and I don't really want to switch off the deck so I'm curious what someone else who plays a lot of the deck would do to make the deck more competitive hehe.

Hey Ilnez, thanks for checking out the deck. Very interesting question too...
First of all, the mana base would definitely look different if flavor was no concern. Off-color Red and White fetches, check lands (or perhaps basics?) instead of the cycling duals, and none of the cheeky ones like Flagstones or Dust Bowl or Riftstone Poral.
A more competitive brew would have less land shenanigans in general, I think. Lean into tokens a bit more with stuff like Rampaging Baloths, Eldrazi Monument, Anointed Procession/Parallel Lives and Divine Visitation. Craterhoof Behemoth of course :)
More interaction, and I'd imagine a little bit more sorcery-speed ramp is probably in order too. Kodama's Reach for sure, and perhaps Hour of Promise or Splendid Reclamation if you're doing all the fetches.
Those are just some general thoughts. Hope something helps!

I've finally started building my Dune deck on here, I'm still adding cards and the laborious cutting phase will begin soon. Also, going to start reading through the book again soon to glean any last flavor nuggets. Just realized I need to add Awakening Zone since the Sleeper has Awakened!

Dune: Coming of the Kwisatz Haderach feedback and cut suggestions welcome. Looking for lots of discussion on this. Trying to represent all main characters if I can.

Been thinking about the larger Dune saga and universe a lot lately and kind of reframing a lot of my decks as metaphors for parts of it. Sen Triplets seems like the perfect blend of the Thinking Machines crossed with the Bene Geserit. All of the artificers are mentats. Just thinking. Can’t wait for the new movie lol

HHey really nice deck :) you should consider Orim's Chant instead of Silence ;)

Hey Senomar! Thanks for the kind words; she's my baby.
I've thought about Orim's Chant a lot, in no small part because it uses the old card frame, ha ha! While the kicker effect can definitely save your bacon every once in a while, the fact that it targets a player rather than all opponents is not an insignificant drawback. While Silence or Chant can both be really fun played as a psuedo counterspell on someone's upkeep, this effect is also included in the deck to protect my own plays during the (hopefully) game-winning turn. I know that's a specific gripe, but the fact that it hits everyone gives Silence the edge for me.
@FenIsABasicSwamp. BEN! Awesome start to the deck, man. How's it playing so far? Suck it up and play Jihad! I'm trying to control my expectations surrounding the movie, but he amount of talent they are assembling is making that very difficult...

@Senomar, I may end up playing both. Silence is a relatively new addition here and I've found it to be damn powerful. Really catches people off guard and takes the wind out of their sails, ha ha.

Haven’t papered the deck or tried it on here yet as I just put together the list of 200ish cards I’m considering. I simultaneously built and papered my new GDW deck Grenzo's Thrummin' Dungeon because I had most of it together already. And instead of Jihad, I’m going to play Shared Animosity in the dune deck because it’s light years better and has a very Jihad-y feel and name still.

Good lord, i didn't know this decklist exists until you commented on one of mine... now i want it!
For one, i always loved Hazezon Tamar but did shy away when he was 40€... now that he's beyond 100€ i wish i had pulled the trigger on that.
On the other hand i loved Dune when i was younger and this is just the kind of theme deck i'd actually play (i'm usually a tech oriented player).
I gotta say, i'm missing Pithing Needle , though. It would fit so well and is a great card! Another - a lot more casual - card i'd love to see would be Sandwurm Convergence , duh.

VietMoneys it's an honour that you upvoted my EDH decks. Thank you!
I've looked at all your lists and I can see that we share really a lot of common points and goals regarding Commander. Each deck is more a labor of love than a mere pile of cards. You just take one step further with all the foiling :) (I foiled myself decks in the past but nowadays I restrain my self from doing so)
I do enjoy tinkering and optimising decks to a point that they are 80%'s and not in the cEDH domain, I also intentionally remove cards that do not help having a fun experience or those that basically combo with a shoe or a stone.
Well, just a word of praise for your decks.. I could see myself playing/loving all of them! Amazing work!

Thank you for the kinds words, CNobre! I'm glad at least one of us is smart enough to avoid the temptation of foils, ha ha. Keep on brewing, my friend, I'm loving what you do.
