Damn man how did you get Zalgo to work?

It only works in the title. I tried to use it for the "This is why we can't have nice things" line, but it just doesn't work out.

Metalworker to try and speed up the mana ramp to get out the Eldrazi?

I don't know why, but I thought Metalworker was more expensive than $25.

In that case, I suppose I could probably find it a home in here for as much mana as it could potentially output.

The Commander never gets put into the graveyard, does he? Thought he bounced to the Command Zone, if he would leave the battlefield, rendering one of Kozilek's abilities useless.

He can always decide to put it into his gy instead of the command zone.

I'm certainly not using Kozilek for that last ability, I'm using him for drawing cards and wrecking board states.

That said, if Kozilek gets killed and I do happen to want my graveyard put back in my library, I just have to hope I have Relic of Progenitus on the board, send Kozilek to the graveyard, and tap Relic in response to his trigger, then as he gets exiled use the replacement effect to put him safely back in the command zone while the rest of my graveyard gets shuffled back.

If I don't have Relic out, however, I'd have to shuffle my own commander in to do that. And that just sounds silly.

You'd run Chromatic Lanturn but not Commander's Sphere?

zinv72: Commander's Sphere can't tap for mana in colorless EDH because Kozilek doesn't have any colors in its color identity. Chromatic Lantern can tap for mana, it'll just become colorless. It also allows Eye of Ugin and Maze of Ith to tap for mana, Temple of the False God to tap for mana before you have 5 lands, and Ancient Tomb to top for mana without killing you if you're at low enough life.

Pretty much everything erabel said. It's the same reason I'm running Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. Not to say I didn't look into Commander's Sphere when I was throwing this together, because I like Mind Stone and would have loved to run what pretty much amounts to a second one, but alas, it was never meant to be.

When did Metalworker get unbanned?

About 5-6 months ago when Kokusho, the Evening Star got unbanned and everything else on the "banned as commander" list got fully banned.

After testing it out in this deck, I think I understand why it was banned in the first place. I dumped Kozilek on turn 4 after playing literally nothing but 3 lands and Metalworker.

You already have High Market, but Miren, the Moaning Well would be an even better response to Kozilek getting targeted by a Doom Blade. Maybe replace Unstable Frontier? I'm not seeing its purpose in your land base.

Yeah, fair enough, replaced. The original mana base I had for this was mostly scrounged up, and I haven't really managed to optimize that completely, though I feel like I'm pretty close.

Yeah its totally clear why it was banned (and prolly still should be).When im on my karn deck and i resolve metalworker in turn 1-3 ppl just concede. But ofc i run it, cuz f**k my playgroup ;)

Maybe use a blue commander so you can use things like Trinket Mage, Treasure Mage, Transmute Artifact and all the artifact fetching available in the game.

The fact that the deck is colorless is the main draw for me to this deck, to be honest with you. I've always wanted to build and run a completely colorless deck simply for the challenge of doing so. So it's not that I don't like your idea Saljen, it's just that it's not what I'm looking to do at the moment, even if this is damn near the bluest mono-silver/brown deck ever made.

At first I was thinking, a colorless Commander deck, how bad can it be... then I looked at the list, and your explanation. Now all I can say is that I'm glad Emrakul is banned, and you can't drop that fucker down on turn six. This is getting a +1.

Anyways, our decks are basically twins, so I love this.

No Blightsteel Colossus? You should also probably play planeswalker karn. There's probably something crazy you could do with Mycosynth Lattice. Cool deck though, +1

I'm trying to keep the initial deck under $500, because I haven't actually ordered it yet. Once I get the initial deck (or I manage to get one from MM2) I'll probably add Karn Liberated. Blightsteel Colossus too. The thing you probably see with Mycosynth Lattice is that it can turn Karn, Silver Golem's ability into "1: Target land's controller sacrifices it." It doesn't seem to do much for me other than fix everybody else's mana otherwise seeing as I'm not running anything with Affinity, so I can't see myself using it at the moment.

So, thanks to the new tuck rule, what I said about never using Kozilek for his last ability is now void: I will ALWAYS put him in the graveyard because the replacement effect to put him in the command zone now triggers when he would get shuffled in, therefore giving me a free Reminisce on death.

Mindslaver + Mirror Gallery + Mirrorworks It's a decent and somewhat interesting combo. Or with Mox Opal, Shell of the Last Kappa, Skyship Weatherlight, or Sword of Kaldra. Maybe even add a Strionic Resonator Just a thought. =)
