Mirror Gallery is a rather useless card outside the combo, so I doubt I'll use it, but the combo sounds fairly fun. Throw Mycosynth Lattice in there and slam down two Kozileks or Ulamogs at a time.

Strionic Resonator on the other hand could very well find a spot, and I'm surprised I hadn't considered it earlier.

Have you considered Not of This World?

It seems like counters aren't really a big issue for you, but the flavor

I'm proxying and playtesting this Friday, if removal proves to be a major issue, I'll throw it in. Hopefully Null Brooch can cover me.

Speaking of flavor, Ugin actually helping the Eldrazi is worth a chuckle.

I know it wouldn't work with this deck but just in general an amazing combo is Emrakul, the Aeons Torn + Mirror Gallery + Infinite Reflection which means every creature that you put out is Emrakul and will get you almost infinite turns and a bunch of insane eldrazis and if you put out a bunch of tokens they all will be Emrakul giving you more and more turns, then you could pair the tokens with Parallel Lives which is going to make any opponents jaw drop.

LiquidKevlar - Emrakul can't be the target of coloured spells. But neat idea!

+1 for the cool text and for being another colourless edh deck! Looks good.

March 27, 2015 12:29 a.m.

LiquidKevlar: Another small issue with that combo: Emrakul's extra turn trigger is on cast, not on ETB, so even if you used Mycosynth Lattice and Mirrorworks to copy it, you'd only get one extra turn, but only if you cast it.

That said, if you swap in Kozilek or Ulamog for that combo, flooding the board with 10/10 or 12/12 creatures with annihilator 4 is huge. Your combo is the kind of thing Hey, I Need To Borrow Your Deck is built around, just flooding the board with your opponent's strongest creature, not yours.

Land optimization stuff:

Crystal Vein -> Petrified Field Being able to pull a utility land from the grave in a deck that solely consists of utility lands is a pretty powerful thing.

Gods' Eye, Gate to the Reikai -> Tower of the Magistrate The most powerful application for this land is to make equipment fall off a creature. That and Gods' Eye feels a little weak.

Dread Statuary -> Strip Mine Feels a little weak in a deck throwing down a Kozilek as early as turn 3. Also 'cause Strip Mine.

A couple other powerful ones to consider: Scorched Ruins, Mystifying Maze, Dust Bowl, Hall of the Bandit Lord, Deserted Temple.

Cheers. Good luck with your deck.

Thanks, I needed that little bit of help to get my land base rounded out. I'll get those in tomorrow.

Dark Depths to go with that thespian's stage?

March 30, 2015 2:36 p.m.

I would, were it not $50 or so. God knows I've got enough expensive stuff on this list so far.

Maybe when the deck is done I can go hunt for stuff like that.

@Pornman Nice deck! +1

A question for you about Kozilek, Butcher of Truth's last ability:

Would it be safe to assume that, if I have Kozilek, Butcher of Truth hit the graveyard and trigger his bottom ability, that I can use his "replacement effect" to send only him to the command zone while my graveyard is shuffled in?

My main point is that they do not define when the replacement effects are allowed to trigger, they only say when they trigger, which to me says that ANYTIME your commander would be shifted to a different zone, REGARDLESS of which zone he/she was currently in at the time, you get to apply the replacement effect.

Thoughts?

April 16, 2015 2:27 p.m.

How do you put that on the name?

April 16, 2015 3:53 p.m.

I'm pretty sure you could put your commander into the command zone from your graveyard if you get Bojuka Bog'd or something, so the replacement effect would be given two opportunities to happen in this case as well, once when Kozilek is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, and once when its trigger would send it back into your library. So if you just let it hit the graveyard, you can go from there and just shuffle your graveyard back while putting the big fella back in the command zone when it triggers.

I don't know how many more silly interactions like this the new tuck rules opened up, but this is definitely the coolest.

Why no Karn, planeswalker?

April 25, 2015 8:23 p.m.

@charliedastrike: To be honest, I'm not really a fan of two-card infinite combos, they just feel cheesy. I have no issues with mana with this deck, and honestly I can't think of anything I'd need infinite mana for anyway, I have no issue whatsoever dumping my hand plus Kozilek by turn 5 or 6. I mean, if I ever need to Steel Hellkite a Gleemax, I'll keep it in mind, I suppose.

@hafnera: I keep telling myself I want to keep the deck cheapish, but I'm already pulling an absurd amount of stuff into this thing, so what's another $40-50 at this point?

Have you considered adding in a Wastes or two to your landbase in the case of a Veteran Explorer, Oath of Lieges, or Path to Exile?

How do you clean up comments? I've tried deleting comments on my decks and it won't delete mine, only others. So how did you reset yours, or clean it up?

Sorry my comment doesn't really pertain to the deck. Just seeing if you could pass on some help!

Thanks!

Inifinite mana combo through Spawnsire of Ulamog and Ashnod's Altar? Could then add in a Hangarback Walker.
