The problem I've found with giving my opponents more cards draw is that it gives them more answers. Cards like Forced Fruition have also proved to be a huge hate magnet. I've purposely avoided cards like Sol Ring as I find format staples very boring (I know they're staples for a reason, but I'd rather lose with a deck I find interesting than win with the same deck that everyone else is playing), but I have been considering artifact ramp for some time. I have two counters in the deck so far, I'm not sure what I'd drop to fit more in though.

I dont think you can play the tri-colored lands because its not in your commanders color identity, im not entirely sure about that though...

As far as I know it's ok. It was fairly pointless before, but now rule 4 has been changed you can produce mana of colours that aren't in your commander's identity.

i thought you could produce them but noy play them so in the case of you taking control of something an opponent controls like any of the mana elves you can now use them to produce green mana even if your commander dosent have green.

I think lands are ok because they're colourless. I could be totally wrong however, I'll look into it.

I think harpodog is correct. You can play stuff that taps for all colours but i dont think you can put stuff in that taps fir colours outside of you commander. Dual lands = ok, Darksteel Ingot, grand! Tri-lands = no i think...

It would appear you're correct. I'll have to swap them for something else, thanks for pointing that out.

I would like to make a comment that Stitcher Geralf does not mess your deck up. With how statistics work, Geralf is just as likely to hurt you as he is to harm you. Let's say he mills the best card in your deck away. Oh well. But what if he makes you draw into it 3 turns earlier? or 6? Then that's a very good thing. IT'S STILL RANDOM. Besides, you're almost guaranteed to get a huge creature off of it, while also milling all opponents. Plus, his ability says "up to 2 creatures", which means you don't have to exile your own creatures if nobody else milled a creature. You can exile one or none.

Moving onto the reason I came to this deck: suggestions. I've got my own deck !!!DANGER: YOU ARE ENTERING A MILLZONE!!! which is my proof of knowing how Phenax works. I like untap effects, which I see you like too because I see Umbral Mantle. Anyway, Pemmin's Aura, Freed from the Real, and Sword of the Paruns are all powerful cards for abusing Phenax's ability. Pemmin's aura can even use to boost the toughness to mill more. The sword boosts everyone else's toughness, and even attack. I also just HAVE to suggest Treasure Cruise, which is a card so many mill decks overlook. Drawing 3 for 1 mana should never be overlooked. My last suggestion is Altar of the Brood, because it works powerfully with Undead Alchemist while also being a good 1 drop (I would suggest Intruder Alarm but that goes infinite with alchemist and you don't like infinite).

Wow, Pemmin's Aura is incredible! Thanks for recommending it. I may have to test out some of your other suggestions and a few ideas from your deck too.

With an average CMC of 4.02 it looks like you could use more mana ramp like Mind Stone, Thran Dynamo, Dark Ritual, etc.

Might I suggest Wall of Blood as a risky, but delicious creature you can abuse? Also Paradox Engine would work absolute wonders in here- especially with more mana rocks!

Love the list and am a big fan of your inclusion of Wrexial, the Risen Deep! Good luck and I hope my suggestions help!

I have run Phenax basically since he came out. I like your brew! Here are a few things that work well for me.

Card draw is important: Fallowsage , Into the Story , and Visions of Beyond have put in a ton of work for me. Combo potential: Intruder Alarm , Zellix, Sanity Flayerfoil , and Undead Alchemist all seem to work well with what you already have. Other: Gyruda, Doom of Depths has been an absolute powerhouse for me. Sheoldred  Flip has a decent body and is easy to flip. Silent Arbiter is also good against a lot of go wide decks. Trinket Mage may be small, but it can tutor up sol ring, Alter of the Brood, and Soul Guide Lantern depending on what you need - very versatile. Wight of Precinct Six can get enormous for only 2 mana.

Good luck and happy brewing!

Thank you for the suggestions! I've been thinking of adding some more card draw as I often run out of gas.
