Eldrazi & Hydra Landfall

Casual Mono-Green

Pyronixcore

This deck is heavy on landfall, and if you get the right opening hand you can have over 8 land in 5 turns (plus an elvish mystic to tap), with a possibility of pulling out Ulamog's Crusher on turn nine, or you can play Khalni Heart Expedition early and follow the landfall rules you might have much more land in just a few extra turns. This makes heavy hitters, expensive creatures, kicker costs and x-costs (like Vastwood Hydra) easy to pay far in advance of your opponent's mid-game.

This deck has lots of obvious weaknesses, but I have a lot of fun playing it! If you play it right, you have little to fear from enemy spells or flying, or even heavy hitting creatures if you can play Mwonvuli Acid-Moss early in the game to cripple your opponent's mana to boost your own.

TO DO

  • Acquire 2 Oracle of Mul Daya, 2 Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
  • Cull the deck back until it's a land-gain heavy creature deck augmented by landfall and/or lifegain
  • Make the sideboard focus on culling enemy enchantments, artefacts and lands.

Distant Future

I want to ultimate have a deck that will be resistant to counter spells and control, with a significant chunk dedicated to Annihilator, target land destruction and massive landfall.

To achieve this I think Eldrazi would be my best aim, though an expensive one.

I think I have a reasonable landfall rate - but it could be better. More Mwonvuli Acid-Moss to destroy target land and gain land, combined with creatures like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre would be killer combinations.
