I'd drop the 2 Wall of Frosts for another 2 Fog Banks. Its better to have all your walls able to defend all creatures and not take damage. They're generally better. I'd also replace the 2 Dream Twist cards with 2 more Mind Sculpt. I'd rather pay 2 and mill 7 cards than pay what is essentially 3 mana to only mill 6 cards. Another nifty card ya might wanna consider is Jace's Archivist. He comes in handy if your running low on cards in your hand and serves as a milling card to. Or if your looking for a more Aggro approach then maybe Undead Alchemist. This deck has great potential :) I have a Mill deck myself called Jace Beleren's Dream Puppets. Check it out :)

Too bad Wall of Denial isn't mono-blue.. Hmmm.. maybe some Dissipation Field?

March 5, 2013 7:55 a.m.

You could put your Sword of Body and Mind on an Invisible Stalker....

@NinjaKitty778 Thank you for the advice! I agree with your changes of the Fog Bank's and Mind Sculpt. I was skeptical about the Mind Sculpt as Dream Twist is an instant so it can come at unexpected times.
The Jace's Archivist is a great creature for another win condition.
I like your deck, what's the fastest it can go?

@PriestessKikyo1 I really do like the Dissipation Field. It has great control elements as well as extending the game for me to be able to secure a win. Thanks for those suggestions.

The fastest I've milled someone was on turn 7. I used my Traumatize + Keening Stone Combo. I milled enough of their cards prior to that to get rid of a lot of their nasty stuff like creature removal. Also I found out another cool combo when play testing my deck that I never intended to make. Jace's Archivist triggers Jace's Erasure :P I don't know how I didn't notice it when making the deck but I'm glad it turned out that way haha it makes for some powerful milling.

Yeah that definitely does trigger Jace's Erasure. With the Hedron Crab's I've had 1 perfect draw, where I was able to mill all of their library on turn 4. It was a amazing to be able to drop all 4 Hedron Crab's on turn 3, then drop a Terramorphic Expanse for an island milling 24 cards off a land drop. Mill can be so much fun.
I had considered the chancellor for my deck as well, but I'm trying to keep my deck as cheap as possible.
How has Jace's Erasure served you? I've found Chronic Flooding to be amazing on both control and mill.

Well I found that since I had a lot of low-cost cards in the deck I would run out of cards in my hand rather quickly and be top decking for pretty much the remainder of the game. That or I'd have Chancellor of the Spires in my hand and unable to play him cause of my lack of mana. So to remedy that I put some card drawing cards in the deck as well as Jace's Archivist. So I thought that If I'm going to be drawing cards then I might as well include Jace's Erasure in the deck. It has served me well for some decent milling power as it combos with Jace's Archivist, Thought Scour, and Visions of Beyond :)

To be honest I was thinking about replacing Chancellor of the Spires with Undead Alchemist but I like the flavor that Chancellor of the Spires brings to the deck. I like to think that a deck has at least one big "main'' monster as sort of like a 'general'' that represents what the deck is or is based around. But that's just my style of play :P

I like the flavor of Chancellor of the Spires it's a generally good card. I just don't like the idea of having a dead card in my hand till turn 7. I should be winning around that time frame.
Or at least, that's the way I think. I do love the inclusion of Visions of Beyond. That is a great card.

If you really like Hedron Crab's trigger, Patron of the Moon. Plus most/all the moonfolk have ways to pick lands back up.

@Ginray72 I do like the idea of Patron of the Moon but it feels like it's not right for this deck.
It makes me want to make a moonfolk deck though. Wish I had known about that card when it was still standard, I may have gotten a few copies back then.

Yeah, I always think about making a landfall deck with those moonfolk. Love the deck though! Dedicated mill is always a blast to see and a pain to play against.

March 6, 2013 7:07 p.m.

because theres the highest cmc is 4 maybe a sands of Sands of Delirium so you have some mill and something to pump your mana into late game.

if Hedron Crab is your game, the Oboro, Palace in the Clouds is the name

@fun_n_games oh my lord cards, i had never seen that before. I will be running 2. Don't want them to end up being dead cards as legendary is an issue. I'm not entirely sold on Sands of Delirium mr_mcmanic_man. I see the point of it, but i have no idea where to cut.

splash black for Glimpse the Unthinkable ?

March 27, 2013 8:21 p.m.

yes. GtU is a beast.

March 27, 2013 8:23 p.m.

Hyren123 says... #19

That is INSANE! I wish I was up for splashing that black. I really like this as mono-blue, though with as many search lands as I have, splashing in even 2 swamps would make this deck more than enough black stable. What do you think? Would that be enough to keep it stable?

March 27, 2013 8:47 p.m.

you also need more Archive Trap in your sideboard.

Have you considered splashing black in this deck at all?

April 21, 2013 4:23 p.m.

Hyren123 says... #22

LeaPlath, I have strongly considered moving black into this deck, but I am trying to keep it a cheap. Most of the good black mill that I would want is expensive, or not yet released. I am looking forward to the new breaking and entering dimir card to be released. It should serve this deck better the Glimpse the Unthinkable as this deck can make use of both halves.
Anyway, for now I haven't had any suggestions to make me want black in the deck; is there something you had imparticular in mind?

April 21, 2013 7:50 p.m.

MollyMab says... #23

Well, a couple of things actually.

Glimpse the Unthinkable is a big player and you want that. As is Snapcaster Mage. You can also run black for Surgical Extraction as that can be very useful. Turn 1, mill them for 6 with Tome, then surgical to rip another 3 cards from their deck for 2 life.

And I don't know why you would want entering. A bit overcosted for what it does.

I have a mill list I could show you if you want?

April 22, 2013 8 a.m.

Hyren123 says... #24

You are correct I do like Surgical Extraction . I would love to see a mill list. I could scalp it for the cheap and effective, because as I mentioned, I am trying keep this low cost.

Deprive is a great counter and very cheap. It works so well with Hedron Crab .
