This is hilarious! I gave you an upvote before I even read the deck cause that story made me laugh so much. Now, with regards to the deck the only thing is the witches eye looks kind of weird in a deck with only 6 creatures. Also maybe run a little more removal (if you add a little bit more red you get acces to Anger of the Gods which will really help against swarmy decks.) All in all, this seems like a hilarious multiplayer kitchen table deck

Thanks Sheograth, the purpose it to entertain more than anything else. I will try to fit in Anger of the Gods but I cannot lower the artifact count too much or the deck will not work like it is "supposed" too haha. I actually forgot the eye was in there, that should be taken out.

I think I would drop Diabolic Tutor for two more Anger of the Gods . I'd be worried about the board over running with little one drop whitties before you could really do any damage, so boardwipes are essential. With the high count of artifacts, I bet you could even take this deck as three or four colors. Maybe throw in Supreme Verdict and whatnot? Artifacts allow almost limitless color potential. And Scrying could help your Pandemonium be a little more controlled if you chose so. I can see this deck actually winning with all the good artifacys out right now. Regardless, home brews are always my favorite, so +1 from me! :P

Thanks for the positive feedback, I did not really think to go into multiple colors, not a bad idea. So you think lots of scrying cards and maybe more of the scrying lands? The artifact count does have to stay pretty high though so there is little room for extra spells.

With all the Keyrunes helping ramp, I don't think scry lands would hurt you. Also, you could even drop your land count to 17 or 16 as long as you raised your Traveler's Amulet (or something else that fetches lands) to 4. Bubbling Cauldron and Darksteel Forge would be good additions. I would probably run the Forge over the Guardian. He's cool, but you don't want a "destroy all artifact" to hit you, and I've seen wonders with Trading Post and Bubbling Cauldron . Door of Destinies after calling "Artifacts" could destroy games. Especially with Mutavault and Rakdos Keyrune (the best Keyrune of them all). Prophetic Prism is cool because it let's you draw one and it mana fixes, which would make Supreme Verdict more viable. Maybe a Ring of Three Wishes if you made it fit your curve? Its a search at instant speed that's reusable, so that's cool. But, I like the idea of artifact control because its one of the few decks that can be 5 colored and still work. Its all fun and no one at FNM would expect it. Lol.

I meant "collosus" rather than "guardian". The Forge rather than the Collosus.*

Thanks for all the advice, I am changing stuff around as you speak. I may try and lower the land count way down as that is what I originally wanted to do but was unsure of how to do it. I am definitely going to put more than two colors in for sure.

Cool, cool. I think I would also drop Guardians of Meletis . They're good defenders, but so is Kraken Hatchling . They're just not multi-purpose cards. I would stick strictly to board wipes, ramp and creature artifacts, land fetching and drawing artifacts, life gaining and token making artifacts, and the big bad ol' dragon daddy. Not many "Sacrifice" ones, because that'll slow you down. And Mutavault awesome in this deck. Especially with if you decided to put in Doors. And the Platemails can be activated in response to other ones. Say you have two out, you can activate one, then the other in response and have 2 4/4 blockers or beat-sticks. This deck has tons of potential. :)

Wow I guess I never really thought of just wiping the board and ramping instead of trying to defend with artifacts. I suppose the deck should go into all colors and utilize those multipurpose artifacts. Thanks a lot, I can think about the deck from a different direction now. Be sure to check back in a couple of days and tell me what you think again.

I think this deck is going to be intense once you finish it! And, also, something else cool, your Keyrunes, Plate mails, other Artifacts and Mutavaults don't die to board wipes. So you can blow all of their stuff up and swing wide open with hefty creatures. :P I would make sure to keep my non-permanent spell count pretty low though. You don't wanna Pandemonium a bunch of instants and sorceries and make it harder to get 20 Artifacts. Lol. I'd stick to essential Board Wipes and call it a day on those.

Love the deck idea. Done some brief playtesting and found that it has trouble getting to the 3 mana mark consistantly. At 3 mana you have a lot of artifacts to mana ramp you up to the top, but before 3 mana there is trouble. Not sure what to do to correct this

Yes if it is too be even playable for an fnm then it needs a lot of work. I am not sure how to fix the mana either. The lands need to stay low for the high artifact count. It also needs mana dorks but having creatures that are not artifacts also takes away from the decks original purpose. Hopefully we can figure it out so it is at least playable.

daveandkenz you cannot name "artifact" with Door of Destinies . artifact is a card type not a creature type.

anyway, this deck is amazing. i've got a friend who runs land, keyrunes, and darksteel forge. so i know where you're coming from lol +1 from me

Kind of changed it up with a bit more mana fixing in it. Let me know if it runs any smoother or if you get stuck on two still a lot of the time.

Thanks kanofudo, I am glad that you like it.

All it takes is a Vandalblast , and then boom. Darksteel Forge , maybe? Cool deck, though! I love it.

kanofudo, "Artifact Creature" is a creature type, good sir. So you can call "Artifact Creature" when it enters the battlefield. My only flaw was that I thought casting just Artifacts would buff them, but you have to cast Artifact Creatures for it to work.

3mouse: The deck is looking good! :P

Thanks everyone for all the tips. I did add Darksteel Forge although I do not know how many Vandalblast I am going to run into. I have never actually seen that card used haha.

The_Darkhorse says... #23

@daveandkenz "myr" would be an example of a creature type. Artifact creature is a supertype and not an option for Door of Destinies

daveandkenz says... #24

Ah, I see. Thank you fit the clarification! For some reason I was thinking the cards said "Artifact - Artifact Creature" on them, but I see the error of my ways. Lol.

Regardless, 3mouse, this deck got Top 8! I'm proud to have helped a smidgen. Tear of joy xP

Yes I am actually very surprised at how many +1's it got so fast. I think people just wanted to read about a day in the life of Hellkite Tyrant more than anything though. : )
