I saw "Hello Sweetie" and told myself I'd Upvote this deck if I saw River Song anywhere. I must say though, the deck itself stands on its own merits. I'm not too sure what to suggest. I think the Sideboard could use a Jester's Cap , just in case you run into a deck that just causes too many problems for this one. Also, Chromatic Lantern should replace Darksteel Ingot , Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth should replace Snow-Covered Swamp ; this should make your mana a lot more efficient. Toss that swamp from the sideboard and bring in Jace, the Mind Sculptor . He's just a checklist of good things.

Lets start with the doctor who reference, winning. Now that that out of the way I have a few questions for you. After play testing against some of my own deck I am having trouble finding a win condition with the deck. Meriki does great to keep the field in check but when she is answered it feels like you are starting from ground zero. How do you feel about a few more easy ways to protect her. I already see Swiftfoot Boots , Mask of Avacyn , Mother of Runes , Cloud Cover , and a grip of counterspells but what about Lightning Greaves , and Redirect . The biggest argument I hear about greaves is it gives her shroud and she can be hard to interact with, but her ability takes a creature and puts it on your field to equip to. Second, and maybe this is just a colossal fail on my end, what is your primary win condition? I would think just beating someone down with their own creatures or one of about three of you big dudes but if so why no Reanimate style effects for the creatures you are destroying with your general? Also Yawgmoth's Will is a must play in these colors and Snapcaster Mage is also nuts.

@VampireArmy I would l would love to play Seek of Hide/Seek but the rules prohibit me to run any split card if either side of it has the mana symbol outside of my own generals and sadly R is not in Esper colours

Rings of Brighthearth (:

you posted in my removal thread about this deck. had to check it out(:

i LOVE the amount of control in the deck. but what are your win-cons? stealing a big creature possibly? or is it just swinging overhead with some of your flyers?

I love the rings yes they are a brilliant accessory for Merieke, the only downside is when I initially made this list I wasn't aware of just how powerful she was to abuse and how much support she can obtain, so as you can see from that maybe board I continually find more good things that can fit in this list with no problem and keep coming up short on space, I still need to rework to have an alternative backup wincon aside from steal their stuff or blow it to hell and have my angel save the day lol ideas on that front are always welcome :) And if you do love my deck by all means please +1 :)

Puppeteer works extremely well in my Merieke Ri Berit deck, also Hidden Strings and Peel from Reality . I'm certainly going to borrow a few cards form this build so I hope one of those works out for ya.

Just discovered two very interesting cards... Second Wind (yes, an enchantment that taps itself, and thereby untap Merieke) and Energy Arc (Seems a bit 'heart of the tardis-y' perhaps? and overall VERY good effects for it's cost, untap everything and painlessly block)

I think Thousand-Year Elixir would be great. I used it alot with my Captain Sisay and it realy speeds things up. You would be able to tap him on T4 so it does not realy bother if it takes your T3 Merieke Ri Berit.

Here are some cards that I feel are great for your deck...

Sphinx's Revelation/Blue Sun's Zenith = Card draw! Rev gives you life, but since you're a combo deck, why not, use Zenith with...

Palinchron = Combo!

Supreme Verdict = Uncounterable in your colors, why aren't you playing this?

November 23, 2015 7:56 p.m.

Oh and someone mentioned it before...Thousand-Year Elixir would be "hella good" in your deck with most of your creatures having activation abilities that require them to tap. This essentially gives those creatures "haste" but only for those abilities. And it's another untap mech. And Unbender Tine is another untap mech that would be better than that 4 drop Gargoyle dude you got.

If you're looking for untap shenanigans; Paradox Engine is your jam! It gets out of hand quickly when paired with mana rocks and cantrips

It combos with Isochron Scepter in the same fashion: any instant and enough mana rocks goes infinite. You can even Counterspell your own spell to get it going

There's also Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal which goes infinite with mana rocks

+1 from me! Looks fun! Feel free to swing by a few of my decks and tell me what you think! This one includes the combos mentioned above. Cheers!

I run Archfiend of Depravity over Rune Scarred. I also include Sheoldred to make them sac a creature each upkeep. To keep from being overwhelmed by tokens, that I don't want to waste Merieke ability on, I run Eye of Singularity. Pemmin's Aura is an auto include for me due to its' multiple abilities. Etherium Sculptor is another way I deal with artifacts and creatures. Merciless Eviction gives you multiple options (all with exile) that might take place of Wrath of God. Same reason I run Austere Command in my deck. I try to force my opponents to focus on everything that I have on the board more than Merieke. That said, I run Bribery, Treachery, Steal Artifact, Steal Enchantment,Copy Artifact, Copy Enchantment,Preacher and Seasinger.

I would cut Avacyn (is a win-more card, and sucks of stolen), baleful strix (efficient, but still weak), Captain of the mists (slow/mana intense), evil twin (jank removal), serene master (too clever. Rather use Fog Bank), village bell-ringer (not good enough without bounce), mangara's tome (risky/random with better, other tutors), Dovin Baan, and Narset Transcendant (not good enough), and Crab Umbra (better than captain, but still very mana intensive). Also, switch Blue Sun's zenith for Stroke of Genius.
