I'm very new to deck building, so help and feedback is much appreciated! I've recently started going to FNMs and figured it was about time to start making my own decks.
-The Deck-
The main idea behind this deck is to get out
Agent of the Fates
and have him start sacrificing creatures to set the stage for Nighthowler. The rest of the deck is supposed to support this by milling as much as possible to fill my opponents graveyard with creatures.
Nighthowler + Paranoid Delusions + Aqueous FormThis way Nighthowler can deliver damage to the player, and in the process make him mill 3, potentially making Nighthowler bigger.
I've put Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Pack Rat in as a sort of back-up plan. Gary isn't going to be as scary as he'd be in a Black devotion deck, but since both
Agent of the Fates
and Nighthowler give 2 devotion, he should pack a punch.And Pack Rat is just, well Pack Rat. Cheap and really annoying if you don't get rid of him right away.
-Thoughts-
I haven't tested the deck yet, but at the moment it seems pretty weak in the first few turns.
Agent of the Fates
won't come out until turn 3.I was thinking of putting in a few more Merfolk Spy, but can't decide on what to take out.
I was also thinking about putting Thassa in. A scry each turn, and she can make Nighthowler unblockable in case I'm not drawing my Aqueous Forms or if they got destroyed.But again, not sure what to take out of the current deck to make room.
I also want to change some basic lands to Temple of Deceit and a few more
Dimir Guildgate
. Possibly Watery Grave, but they are quite expensive.
