What started as an obsession with the new Multani has morphed into a Gruul craphouse. I started by chucking lands with Borborygmos Enraged as a sub-commander with Mina and Denn, but then I realized I just wanted to chuck bodies. I was skeptical about the addition of Red for a while, but simply having Haste enablers is extremely valuable in this type of deck. Swinging with big bodies is fun with additional surprises if my opponents' creatures think they can be chumps.

I diverged from the popular landfall emphasis associated with Mina and Denn. Focusing on the big manabase that naturally builds up with them seemed like a more organic approach to the deck. Of course, I still run the good landfall creatures. You drop a lot of threats that scale as the game goes on with creatures like Multani and Managorger.
