All you need is a couple Riptide Shapeshifter's Works like a dream. Probably add another creature type or a second Leviathan in case you draw one.

I think you may remove Blue Sun's Zenith and change it for Curiosity your creatures lot of them become unblockeable so you could be cycling a lot this way.

Why use Spreading Seas over Aquitect's Will ? Curious, not advocating. I run AW in my merfolk deck, and I find it's a bit better for speed than SS.

razorsoldier and yungxak, those are some great suggestions. I guess I will have to playtest them and see how they work.

yungxak by the way, I currently have the Spreading Seas instead of Aquitect's Will because I like the ability to color hose my opponent if need be. Turning his lands to islands takes away his/her ability to cast color specific spells. I guess I could split it and do two of each, but I kind of feel that both cards are equally weighted.

Icarus79 you should win with this before you have to start worrying about turning his lands into islands and the two mana could be spent better playing Lord of Atlantis instead of changing his lands to islands. A well timed Wasteland should take care of any duals you're trying to turn into islands. also, why not run 4 of Cursecatcher and 4 Lord of Atlantis instead of 4 Wake Thrasher and 4 Merfolk Sovereign ? Doing so would make your mana curve much more aggressive. I would also consider running 3-4 AEther Vial . As mentioned before Aquitect's Will is a much more efficient way of accomplishing what Merfolk Sovereign and Spreading Seas do combined at much less mana.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he may not wanna add $50+ to the deck, but that's just me. I agree with the suggestion of swapping out the Merfolk Sovereign for Lord of Atlantis . I like Wake Thrasher, though I've chosen to not run it.

Yeah, you're probably right. However, a cheap enhancement would be to upgrade your Ponder to Brainstorm

Thanks for the advice guys. I see most competitive fish decks in legacy run Wasteland , but I just don't have the money for it. I added a couple more Lord of Atlantis to my wishlist and when I get them will add them in along with 2 more Cursecatcher . I think in the long run I will be taking out the Ponder all together and putting in Standstill with more AEther Vial . They are the pricey ones though and it will take me a while to trade into them.

Pricey they are my friend. Trust me, I'm currently building a competitive Legacy Merfolk deck and it's hard justifying $50 cards. Also, have you seen the new M14 merfolk, Tidebinder Mage ? I'm putting her in my sideboard to see how she plays against goblins and anything that runs a Tarmogoyf or basically the entire maverick deck.

Here's my Merfolk Deck: Under The Sea
Perhaps consider Merrow Commerce or Aquitect's Will ?
