*"The Greek Soldiers were standing on the top of the hills. Looking down into our eyes. With no fear or pain. They were an enormous amount of soldier. With their shields and with their spears, standing brave on the top of the hills, we began to fear them. Our numbers were clearly outmatched by the Greeks.* *The fight started in a brutal match. The Greeks storming down the hills, fast and brutal. Our army didn't stand a chance. We couldn't handle the amount of power that the Greeks had. We, trying to outsmart them by using unfair combat tricks. We once tried to send an attack at their right side, trying to surprise them. We failed. The Greeks could easily make a counterattack, who none of us had thought they would be able to do...**I have talked to Surrak. Even he, our mighty leader, don't know what to do. I don't know. We have forced our men back, trying to gather all of them. Surrak, our mighty leader don't wants us to retire. He wants us to win. And so shall it be.**They are gathering up in formations. We don't know when, we don't know how and we don't know where they will strike. One thing is sure. We know, that they will strike.**This might be the last thing, I'm going to write. I'm going into war. I'm bringing my Ox with me. We all know, that this is going to be our last fight. Even a fool could realize this. Even my Ox know this...**Sincerely; Sannarim, the Snowhorn Rider"*--------------------------------------------------------------------------I hope you enjoyed the little, very short novel.... Ok, a historie.... :D
THE DECK
I run A LOT of 1-drops. I run about 23 1-drops. This might be a little too many?
But the thing is, I run 4 Defiant Strike and 3
Dragon Mantle
. This gives me so many card draws and heroic pumping!
The deck can run out of gas pretty fast. Therefore it is good to have some cantrips.
So this is a very basic strategi. Thrown down creatures on turn 1-2-3. When you have put down creatures, you can start to make a lot of heroic triggers. It is simple, but it wins games!
Changes
I played with this deck 2 times now (with Anax and Cymede and
Ordeal of Purphoros
, instead of Obelisk of Urd and
Dragon Mantle
). I went 2-1 two weeks in a row! Not too shabby, but neither is it good. I want to WIN! :D
So, I made these improvements:
-1
Soldier of the Pantheon
-2 Anax and Cymede-3
Ordeal of Purphoros
+3 Obelisk of Urd+3
Dragon Mantle
I mostly lost, because I ran out of steam. The opponents didn't play as many multi-color spells than I thought. Anax showed to not be as good as I thought. She was too slow. Ordeal got killed all the time. Or, my creature got killed. I got 2 for 1'ed ;_;
HOW I WON 10 DOLLARS!!

So, I went to my LGS 2 times. I came at place number 3 and 4. Which was pretty bad. Now, I needed to playtest the deck. So after those two times, I made some changes. And guess what. I finally won.**Abzan**So, the first match was against this overly strong Abzan deck. The fun thing was, that it was a little kid (~12 years) who was playing. I thought, that this was gonna be an easy match. It wasn't.He first starts to Crack a fetch, and then Thoughtseize me. Wat... He then begins to play Sylvan Caryatid and Siege Rhino. But I follow up pretty good. I play down some heroic creatures, which are just getting bigger and bigger. His Siege Rhino just wasn't as good as my 5/5 fabled hero.Next match he side in a lot of removal. My creatures are just getting removed again and again... He then plays a Elphet, Sun's Champion and I lose.Third match was a pretty close one. He keeps killing my creatures. He play Courser and Rhino. And he begins to get tons of life. Luckily, I got an
Ajani's Presence
and a Chained to the Rocks which he just can't do anything against.**Mono Red Homebrew**Well, came up against some weird mono-red homebrew. Pretty strong with those damn Monastery Swiftspear, but the deck just aint good enough.Next turn he gets mana screwed. I kill him turn 4.**B/W Control**Jeeze, this matchup was though! Wow. I think he played like 2 creatures (Wingmate Roc and Seeker of the Way). First match I misplay. I had a Spear of Heliod out. He attacked with his Wingmate Roc. I could have killed it, but I didn't do it for some reason.... Made me loose the match.Second match I sideboard
Ajani's Presence
and
Return to the Ranks
in. I have never drawn RttR before, so I didn't knew how good it was. But luckily for me, I have it in my starting hand. He begins to remove my creatures. He even
Despise
'd me. But I play the RttR, and got back 3 creatures. He couldn't handle those creatures again.Last match was an easy one. He removes my creatures, I RttR's them back. I play an Obelisk of Urd. He gets totally destroyed! So yea, I went 3-0... With this deck. There are some pretty competitive decks in my meta. So I'm quite glad! Also, if this deck is tooooo expensive for you, then don't worry! I didn't even play with Battlefield Forge because they are toooooooooo expensive right now! And I won. Budget homebrew deck can be good! (Don't expect this deck to win any PTQ....)
