Thanks Termit1989, I'll update the page. As well I'm wondering if I should remove something to add in Silence just because it would be fun to play with Elite Arcanist and it can stop the opponent from casting a creature spell that could block Hidden Strings . I'm going to think about it a little longer.

I have been play testing myself with this and my two other decks; Dega Midrange and Selesnya Aggro. From what I have found the phalanx+hoplite combo works wonders. My only concern was that I seemed to always be short on white mana to play them. So what I decided to do was remove two Hidden Strings for two Plains . Since doing this I have found the deck to run smooother. +1 vote from me. I don't tink it is as consistent as the others I play with, but it is a load of fun to play and I plan on playing this against others soon!

Thanks rastarracer, I understand that you can come short of manna some games, and that is because I am using less than 40% land in this deck, if you want more land consistency, remove x2 Gods Willing and replace that with 2 Plains . Hidden Strings in a must in this deck, being able to Cipher and the copy triggering heroic is essential.

I have already Considered Meletis Charlatan however I like that you can get more casts from Elite Arcanist , and you can't encode the copies of the spell so it wouldn't be useful for Hidden Strings .

Just one thing to note, Hidden Strings cannot be encoded with Elite Arcanist , as the Elite Arcanist requires an instant to be exiled, while Hidden Strings is a sorcery. Triton Tactics works fine though.

Hello. I play tested this on FNM just last night. I did better than i expected. I did come across some problems with mono-red burn decks and a deck running jace/chandra/ashiok/ral/vraska with a buch of removal. This deck is a rush indeed, as there are no removal. I took out 2 Triton Tactics , a Bident of Thassa , and a Spear of Heliod . I added 4 Render Silent and things went a lot smoother.

I think u should add Isperia for drawing cards. and/or Martial Law so u can detain things each of ur turns
October 6, 2013 11:47 a.m.
@Authgaron, Yes I know that Hidden Strings cannot be exiled with Elite Arcanist , that's why wrote multiple casts beside him. Hidden Strings Can untap him, allowing more then one cast of the exiled instant.
@voltronxxx Yes, I have been pondering this for a while now, I too have most problems against mono-red decks, however I Am unsure how I specifically update my board with Render Silent and Silence . Have been testing it quite a bit, for now though I'm going to keep testing it a while longer before I update the board.
@redben346 Isperia, Isperia, Supreme Judge is too expensive, I should have won before I can play the card. It works well with Bident of Thassa however at that point I already have card draw from Bident of Thassa and my creatures are often so big that opponents have nothing big on the board. I'm not interesting in Martial Law just because with Aqueous Form I am unblockable and although I do like the card, I don't see what I could go with it that would combo better then some of the other 3-4 cost cards.

Blind Obedience is at a CMC of 2, which will never get played before Hidden Strings and Battlewise Hoplite ect, ect because of the amount of counters you want to start building on the creatures, right away. For that reason and the fact that it doesn't target any of the creatures to trigger heroic, I would think its useless for this deck that is, still awsome card Thanks though for your suggestions!

I liked more the first version of your deck w/o Render Silent and Silence . I tested the old one agains several different standard decks and after many trials and many changes ended with U/W Heroic as my favorite combination. Added +2 Fabled Hero and +2 Battlewise Valor and 1 extra Plains. Removed -2 Hidden Strings , -1 Artisan of Forms , -1 Bident of Thassa , -1 Elite Arcanist . Usually when I didn't have to mulligan the first hand, the game ended with my win. The biggest problem as always was Red Aggro deck but I didn't feel like I lost.

@Termite1989 The change isn't indefinite, I'm going to be testing both versions for a little just to see what works best.

Since the prerelease event, I wanted to build a deck around Phalanx Leader . I was thinking about a deck like this but didn't think about Hidden Strings . I have a rule question about Hidden Strings. Can you target the same creature with a tap and untap, or because of the word "another" does it have to be two seperate creatures?
October 12, 2013 10:38 a.m.
You answered your own question. You have to target another creature, that's why it works best with 2 creatures. for example 2 Phalanx Leader . Its a really powerful card lol.

I encourage anyone to try this deck, in a game with no Hallowed Fountain though say making the real deck, you will need a few more land possibly.

Played with my version ( U/W Heroic ) of your deck again this weekend with my friends. Added 2 Daxos of Meletis
to test him and I ran out of words to express how interesting and funny at the same time it was.
Daxos of Meletis
Simply gives you card advantage and with a little luck can exile card most needed by your opponent. Additionaly it can heal your life points and that's always welcome.
f.e. I have exiled and played Ajani, Caller of the Pride
= 3 life, used his first ability on Daxos. Next turn, this time second ability on Daxos again and it triggered his ability twice giving me Phalanx Leader
and Ethereal Armor
= 3 life.
End of the report :)

I had Daxos of Meletis in too during the original make of this deck, I only took him out for the single reason that it didn't give consistent benefits to the deck, sometimes it was awesome what I could get other times, not so much. I'll replace the Render Silent with him and continue testing with my current deck.

I'm really liking this deck so I bought it lol, once I get all the cards from amazon I will test and learn actually how to use this more effectively. Soon to play fnm with the deck, and il let you know how it works and what things work well and such :D but you got a +1 from me on Saturday but yeah haha, once I buy tokens I might have to spend one to feature this deck so you can get more insight. I really dig it :D
October 14, 2013 1:47 a.m.
Thanks J_Albor. Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost for you to buy this deck? I'm sure other people would be interested in hearing from you as well. When I got the Majority of these cards from my local mtg shop, I paid about 30$ for everything but the Hallowed Fountain . I traded some of my shock lands for those.
October 14, 2013 8:37 a.m.
If this working against other people on FNM its just perfect.I mean on my local store there are people that spend tons of money just for a deck.If this can beat these deck you have my respect cause you will prove that you have creativity and not just spend a lot of money for expensive cards. They make me belive that always wins the most expensive deck.Proove them that they're wrong!
Oh and you have my +1 :)

I would like to try this deck in real games as soon as possible. You didnt mention it but Bident of Thassa Active ability has good synergy with other active ability of Spear of Heliod or even cheaper in mana Triton Tactics if you need to turn off potential blockers w/o Aqueous Form on the table.
