I like it :). I run a very similar version of this deck! But I don't really understand the reason for main decking 2 Artisan of Forms instead of, for example 2 Triton Fortune Hunter . If you did this you could put in another Bioshift and Gods Willing instead of two of the four Ordeal of Thassa .What do you think?
I run 2 of the Ordeals because of it only being able to trigger one heroic and not getting more than one counter some of the times for 2 mana.

@Phat_Shadow The logic behind changing Ethereal Armor with Ordeal of Thassa is the card draw, simply this deck can play too fast. Plus there aren't an abundance of enchantments like when I first originally made this deck. Eventually I'm going to make an Enchantment based Heroic deck that will have shared functionality of This deck and my Heroic Torments Tournament Deck. For now, I'm Kinda just making proof of concept with both decks. which I have been pleased with both so far.
Phat_Shadow If you wanna change Ordeal of Thassa for Ethereal Armor Go for it, I'm kinda indifferent because I'd prefer to have both. But if I could have both, what do I sacrifice? Likly -2x Artisan of Forms and move to sideboard, also -1x Phalanx Leader and -1x Nivmagus Elemental .
@AndreEdwardsson If you look closely there is exactly 2 Triton Fortune Hunter in the sideboard and 2 Artisan of Forms in the mainboard ;). There are only 2 Artisan of Forms because it can be a great card if someone is playing something like Archangel of Thune . Plus I already have some card draw from Ordeal of Thassa so I like the card as a great Utility piece of the deck, I could technically make it a copy of a Phalanx Leader in play too for example.
You always get a minimum of 2 counters with Ordeal of Thassa if you swing (and on a heroic hero that gets a counter). 2 counters for 2 mana is great, plus additionally you get to draw 2 cards.

Truth....I'll try the Ordeal of Thassa and see how I like it. Gonna run in a box tourny ($15 buy-in but winner gets a box) this Friday.

Seems fun. I've been interested in making a deck with Heroic but it just never seemed good enough. +1!
I've got a pretty unique Standard deck I've been working on, would you mind checking it out?

Great synergies! +1 Have you (or anyone reading this) brought this deck to FNM? If so, how did it go?
November 14, 2013 9:12 p.m.
@Eufrosino Many people have brought this to FNM and this version of the deck has been exceedingly successful compared to past versions. This is very dependent on your knowledge of the deck though. The decks key weaknesses are Control Decks (with board wipes). However people using this deck have also had trouble against burn decks, but I believe that is likely due to the lack of experience as a magic player. The most recent test of this deck was done by a user who used no hallowed fountains and managed to get 2nd at a FNM and won 6 packs along with a promo card. When I update the comments, it unfortunately clears all history of comments.

@Eufrosino i took a previous version to fnm that didnt have the nivmagus but i hadnt tested the meta and its full of big junk and board wiping controll decks. But against my friends standard decks it does pretty well.
November 15, 2013 12:16 a.m.
@Felixlives how did you place with the old version (I Forget)
Yea... If you're going into a tournament where the majority of the players are playing harsh Control decks... you would really have to build against those lol.
November 15, 2013 12:24 a.m.
can you post the control version??When im going to use my sideboard i dont know what to remove

I did not do well i won 1 lost 3 one was a close lose but i had unlucky draws. Basically board wipe after board wipe i even had one guy double anger of the gods to get rid of my 6/6 unblockable double striker.
November 15, 2013 3:32 a.m.
@wwweee I deleted it for one key reason, if you play with the deck enough, then you'll know what to remove and when. If you don't know what to remove, then you should probably play the deck a little bit more, via testing with friends or testing online vs other decks on tappedout. I know this is a harsh answer to give, but I find many people playing this at an FNM Event lose games because they make a poor play with this deck or don't take advantage of all the cards at thier disposal. You might want to remove Phalanx Leader and Artisan of Forms for example if the opponent has no creatures and or playing alot of kill spells to put in 2x Brave the Elements 3x Dispel
November 15, 2013 3:52 a.m.
@Felixlives have you considered trying his
?
if you're faces lots of removal it may may it harder for your opponent if they know they're gonna get whacked every time they take one of your creatures out. :-)
just a thought. :-)

I_H8_U_M8 What do you sideboard in against azorius or esper control. Getting protection from it won't help and you can't counter supreme verdict. Can you do a break down of the sideboard? Thanks

good question, that's why in my version I'm running Silence and Rootborn Defenses in the side. Silence also has the added effect of costing so much less they won't see it coming when I'm down to 1-2 mana.

Well, I owe you an apology. I thought as soon as you changed your deck from it's ver. 1.3 iteration, I thought it to be weaker. Instead, I can happily report that this deck placed me 2nd in last weeks FNM, going 3-1 overall!
The stupid combo of Nivmagus to Hidden Strings turns 1 & 2 works nicely to create an early threat. That combo alone won me games one and two against a fairly respectable mono black deck and Red Blue counter/burn deck. Aggressive red decks appear to be becoming a thing I fear, as my 3rd game I went 2-1 against a copy of Bill Nye's (or whatever his name... I don't follow Pro MTG players) 17-lands-and-almost-all-one-drops deck, which is Stupid fast, and finally losing 0-2 in my final game in a super aggressive rakdos deck (though I call bad draws for both losses, shouldn't have drawn as much land as I did). Regardless, I am impressed with the progress made and would +1 your deck again if I haven't already done so. Well done!

I would suggest Mizzium Skin instead of Bioshift .I have made a similar deck, and would love feedback if you have any. My deck is here:American Heroic
November 21, 2013 5:47 p.m.
I could see where Mizzium Skin could be useful. The fun thing (for me, anyway) about Bioshift is that it 1) takes them completely by surprise if they haven't seen you play it yet and 2) plays mind games with them when they have (should I take out that creature or will it just make another one stronger? Does he have another Aqueous Form waiting?).
Mizzium Skin to me seems to have a little less utility, especially when Bioshift affects two creatures, which doubles the amount of counters you can put on as well if you're in a pinch. I like Mizzium Skin though, may have to try it out in some other decks. :-)

When would you sideboard in triton fortune Hunter and azorius charm? Also, am I totally screwed when an opponent casts supreme verdict?
November 24, 2013 8:10 a.m.
firerunner36 says... #21
@singingpie hence why the Triton comes out and you put Silence in, and Azorius Charm is for super aggro or if you need to draw more.

@singingpie you can try splashing red like what I did on mine, I have a total of 6 cards that deal with Supreme Verdict , Boros Charm and Rootborn Defenses
I find it is more consistent as it deals against decks with Verdict.
Check it out below and let me know what you think.
November 25, 2013 9:14 p.m.
I love this deck! Could you explain in when to put in the main deck every card in the sideboard? Like, you take A, and put B in, when X. You take C out, and put D in, when Z. Thank you!!!
November 30, 2013 3:53 p.m.
Love this deck. Unfortunately, it hasn't had the success that I hoped for. Took it to 2 FNM's and ended up 1-3 each time. I can't seem to consistently draw the right mana. I end up with a Plains and a Island with a Phalanx Leader or 2 Plains with Blue in my hand. Even with a great hand I still can't beat Super Aggro Boros with Cavalry Pegasus . I knock them down to 4, but they fly over me for 12, then Boros Charm for game. Not a big fan of Battlewise Hoplite . Never seem to be focus of any Heroic. Might need to add Ordeal of Heliod for my meta. Still love the deck though.+1
December 1, 2013 1:35 p.m.
@Shuper I've had success with -2 Artisan of Forms -1 Aqueous Form +1 Fabled Hero +1 Island +1 Plains . I'm thinking about +2 plains instead of the island... Hope this helps.

Hey I first wanna say that I'm a fan of this deck. I am currently in the process of ordering all the cards for it. However, can you sell me on why you replaced Ethereal Armor with Ordeal of Thassa ? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just would like to know how you justified it.
I know you prefer the counters for bioshift but is it worth 2 CMC instead of 1 CMC? Also if you put it on a creature and it already has counters on it you don't get the full effect of the card that you just paid 2 mana for.
