Nykthos is not that expensive (2/3 or 4/5 Dollar$) depending on your country.

Hey, you're right--seems like yesterday it was 10-20 bucks. Will have to pick up a few.

WHAT???10/20$ WT...?? Here in Europe it topped at about 10, now it's around 2/4. Google: "Magic Card Market dot eu" and see for yourself. that's "our" "trading place".

Yeah, they're cheap now. Will have to get a few. For this deck though, based on my playtesting, it's not an auto-add. My leeches need swamps all day, and being caught without that extra B for early Sign in Blood or Thoughtseize just hurts.

Man, isn't Waste Not the best? How've you been doing with this at FNMs? I was solid 2/2 at my LGS while my deck was standard Waste Not + Whispering Madness . +1

Seems rather efficient of a deck. If only Demonic Tutor was standard legal. Would really help getting those combos out :D +1

Fetches might help, when I was playtesting this deck I often topdecked many swamps and it made me sad.

+1 from me. I've been working on a similar deck. Waste not, want not so far it's been pretty fun to play, when it works, it REALLY works.

Since you do not seem to want to cast Master of the Feast early and that you're playing some sort of a control strategy, I think Indulgent Tormentor would be a better finisher than the master. Plus you won't be letting them draw cards!

It seems he wants the opponents to draw cards during his turn. This allows him to strip them and trigger Waste Not even more times.
Anyhow, +1 from me. This deck is sweet. I literally have hated Standard for the entirety of this Season, but I would play this deck at FNM.

You might like Shrieking Affliction - aggro decks dumping their hand is just more damage

If you replace Thoughtseize with some other stuff you can make this thing budget. Maybe Tormented Thoughts, Disciple of Phenax, Black Cat? Maybe 1-2 Liliana Vess?
Feast of Dreams is bad. I'd use Hero's Downfall in it's place. Honestly, I'd run downfalls in the mainboard. :P
Just keep in mind, Liliana Vess + Master of the Feast + Waste Not is an AMAZING clock. : )

Black Cat seems obvious here. I also think Gray Merchant of Asphodel would serve as a powerful win con. the reason i recommend these cards is black cat will make aggro decks think twice about attacking as random discard is very powerful. plus you can trigger it's own death giving you an instant speed discard if you got a sac outlet. Gary is also a very powerful inclusion. I do think your unique in going the nightmare route, and i do think that is powerful. however that life point swing can be insane, gary has proven himself in standard before. and i honestly think this would be his new home. i'm sure there are moments you's rather gary then the leeches and vice versa. id split btwn them. I think more removal would be good. i would also consider splashing red for this deck for Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker. i normally think he sucks and would rather run storm breath dragon as it just flat out better. but i think the -3 is very useful here, to double up on removal. things will slip through every game + top decks can just wreak you still. 4 damage should handle it well. + you got a reliable damage dealer unafraid of death touch. and if you can ultimate more fuel. also blue is a good splash for Treasure Cruise. anyways its all food for Thoughtseize. :P

sarkhan> necro fiend. want him out quick? delve him out = limit his ability. way more venerable to removal. reusable removal on a stick regarding both? check. delving away all your cards then drawing a murderous cut = but hurt? check. true sarkhan must wait 2 turns before blasting again but is more likely to stay away from removal top decks then necro fiend. plus the fiend is probably just as slow as he delved away most cards just to hit the feild and deal with the first threat. sarkhan vs necro feind. point to sarkhan.

I can't believe that I read the words "embarrassment of riches"... I would've +1'd on that alone.
Given the debate over a win-con, it's clear that you should be playing Griselbrand! It's the best win-con I know. Jokes Aside, I think that Necropolis Fiend is fine but not excellent, however, splashing red for a double-red-mana Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker seems unwise. The point here you're "splashing" for that, it's just better to maindeck Sidisi's Pet. Given the profuseness of Sultai/Abzan Graveyard in Standard right now, you could play something like Agent of Erebos as a 1-of in the main and get free wins every now and then. Abhorrent Overlord is an excellent card that gets no press but can easily get you there, especially in a mono list.
Downfalls are better than Feast of Dreams always.

I do think you have a few points Viridian. but i think your comparison is cruel btwn sarkhan and sidisi's pet is cruel and uncalled for. if you know how to splash properly you can get him out. any player worth there salt. i did not post in my comment above any other recommendations for red, true. but i thought it was common sense if you splash for a color you should change for a few things. i was giving a direction you can go. not a one for one switch. Don't dismiss other ideas so blatantly viridian. I've seen deck lists running red in it, and seen tymerat the murder king with interesting interactions with Necromancer's Stockpile. i wasn't to impressed. i thought Whip of Erebos was cool.
I think you have a fair point in recommending agent of erebos. 1 main board, maybe. your call. side board seems wise to at least have some on hand for sure. If you wanna go all in on mono black devotion with leaches nightmare and Abhorrent Overlord i think thats cool. i totally think it's worth testing. i just like the idea of something in the deck functioning much like a sarkhan or necropolis fiend were you got a 2 in one. can be a beater and a removal option if you need it. having cards that double up are useful in a deck that devotes to discard imo, just because when there in top deck mode, drawing discard cards hurts the but. be nice to have your other cards at least be versatile.

Why don't you take out a Swamp and put a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. I believe it would help you cast Nightmare
