The positive feedback really means a lot guys!
@ Namron88 I'll take a look for sure, and on the note of Erebos, a lot of times, except where I found a silly little interaction with Obzedat where when the Ghost Dad would come in on my turn, Erebos would be devoted, and when he blinked out on their turn, he would go back to being an enchantment (which was silly as hell), he didn't really do a lot, the draw is just too expensive for me, I play against a lot of agro, and so I cant afford the 2 life to draw 1 card, so he really only shined against decks running Sphinx's, decks based off lifegain, etc. and for that reason I felt he should be moved to the sideboard. In his place I brought in my Underworld Connections just because, like any other control deck, to be controlling, I have to draw the answers, and the 1 mana 1 life is way better than 2 mana 2 life xD
@ omnipath Yeah last week went much more like expected haha, though how did you get land screwed? I assume you mean you got a drought instead of a flood? That is really weird because I was on the verge of seeing too many lands per game, I would get to the point of Reading (RtB) away 2 lands, and still draw 1 off of it. I actually took a look at your deck and didn't even realize it was the same one haha! I really want to get some Thunes, but that is another battle entirely, I'm basically at the point of almost waiting until Christmas to get them xD

Yo, love the deck! How's Heliod, God of the Sun workin' out for you? One of the best cards that can go in B/W Midrange decks is Sin Collector . It's basically "Counter this spell or lose your counterspell". It's P/T is well balanced considering he has a sick ability. Devour Flesh is also a great removal card. Cast it in response to a creature being played to make them sac the creature they want to keep, kill that Hexproof creature or God card, etc. You can also glean any stuff from this B/W Midrange deck that took 5th place at SCG Standard Open Cleveland.

I freaking love Heliod! The vigilance is nuts, and against control or in a stall, having something to do in the form of making 2/1's is freaking incredible. I like Sin Collector, but the guy I would swap him for would be the High Priest, and I feel the Priest is a better over all card in that it takes out Detention Spheres just the same as it 2-for-1's aggro decks early on, so I side them in against control for the ability and the whip trigger, however I just feel it is a sideboard card.

Noice. High Priest of Penance is a total boss when it comes to aggro matchups.

He really is, even got a control player to trip up and block him, shot an Elspeth, pretty good answer xD

Thoughts on pulling the Fiendslayers? or at least moving them to the side?

I stated it in my update, basically, they seem really good on paper, but for my purposes, they don't usually do a lot. They either sit there, not able to swing due to dying, or they chump block and die, just gaining me 2 life. I feel like if I want to gain 2 life, I could do it better or easier. While they are cool, as a 2/2, they aren't that big of a board impact, and most of the time, even my High Priests impact the board more heavily than they do.

You could put Lifebane Zombie in its place and just sideboard it in lifebane has a bigger impact from what I have seen and with intimidate he is almost always guaranteed a hit or two plus with the whip you can reuse his eff and save your hand for later

That is true, however, I don't have any lifebanes, I may try to pick some up!

I really like them if you can get them enchanted, they are amazing. I run Fiendslayer Paladin and Ordeal of Heliod and Ordeal of Nylea to just make them op. I realize there aren't that many good black enchantments like that, but maybe in Born of the Gods?

I was really just playing them as a turn 3 lifelinking beater, I tried to replace Vampire Nighthawk (R.I.P.) and it didn't really work :(

Yes, but in my deck, that is an impossibility, and so quite frankly, the Fiendslayers are a bit of a let down
October 10, 2013 11:09 p.m.
As much white creatures you have I would use Brave the Elements instead of gods willing unless you really want the scry 1

Yeah, and I am borderline with Brave, because I feel the creature I play most is Desecration Demon, and he isn't protected by Brave. It's really just a matter of counter spot removal as well as getting the one blocked guy past blockers
October 11, 2013 10:30 a.m.
i agree that the Fiendslayer Paladin is a let-down more frequently than I first thought he would be. Against rakdos, sure... but anything else is kinda meh. He is a good thing to take out game two and replace with the Brave the Elements because game two they'll be putting in more removal. You're right that it doesn't play well with Desecration Demon , and he is key in this deck!

What should I put in in the Fiendslayer's places?
October 11, 2013 3:27 p.m.
Not sure.. could try 2 Precinct Captain as it has similar cost. Or a 4th high priest and 3rd gods willing?

I was thinking 1 more Doom Blade and 1 more God's Willing

very good! I'm glad the results at FNM were promising. Mine didn't work out as well - mainly got mana screwed nearly every game. Weird because I ran 25 lands like you! So I made massive changes to my orzhov deck orzhov poetry sucks (used to be 'enemy of my enemy'). I dropped mana costs and swung towards white weenie.
I think the archangel will really help you when you can get it. I miss my ghost daddy already, and I will watch your results to see if it can help me decide about my own deck. Can you give sideboarding tips? I feel like I suck at it!
