If you want this deck to win better and more fast then you can put in paradox engine, but if you're going to do that, you might as well put in lightning bolt and make a combo control deck.

This is a deck about pain and existential horror. Infinite combos are great for competitive play, but it's not right here, doesn't fit the theme.

OH yeah, most of the money for this deck is the mana base. You can budget this anyway you like, I just wanted to get one together to make this deck as mean as possible. You can save hundreds of bucks by replacing some of the lands and the rocks with cheaper, less competitive alternatives, and you can probably find an OK replacement for LOTV.

I like it. The idea with the entropy talk is awesome. How does the deck win though? I'm seeing a lot of discarding and the like.

Great question!

The point of this deck, while partially to win, isn't to win efficiently or cleanly. You win by grinding down your opponents life through a thousand cuts from angrath, keranos, megrim, raider's wake, and zombies created with waste not. This will take some time, and this is by design, hopefully you can stabilize before you get beat down. If you have to you can also swing with that creatures in the deck or the commander, but they wont usually do a great deal of damage all on their own.

Shrieking affliction can definitely help heat things up a bit if the grind is taking too long. Right now, this is all just hypothetical. I haven't built or been able to playtest this deck yet.

Basically you slowly drain the room of oxygen and by creating chaos you ensure there isn't much others can do about it.

I'm hoping this deck turns out to be a hard counter to high draw-power control/combo decks.

I might 86 omen machine for notion thief. I might also decide I am always going to have chains in the mix. Torpor orb is a nombo with some other stuff I'm playing and is a little anti-fun (well this deck itself is pretty anti-fun), but I am not doing any ETB creatures so it might be a decent add.

I put engine back in. And Chains. And I added Remand.

I took this deck out for its inaugural game tonight. It did well, and I've made a few adjustments based on its performance and my meta. Won the pod, beating a Muldrotha deck despite feeding its yard all game long.

Decided to go deeper on wheel effects. These tend to go off- especially with recursions- and cascade [not the keyword ability of course] into each other and can end a game when you have a megrim out.

I took out notion thief, even though wheeling when he's on the battlefield is a hilarious way to lose

I really am sorry this deck costs so much, I suggest you make a platest or budget version. I don't love the reserved list.
