Play High Tide , draw cards, untap lands, rinse, repeat, cast card:Blue Sun's Zenith or Brain Freeze at my opponent.

Would it not be more efficient to have Brain Freeze in the main in place of Blue Sun's Zenith, leaving the Sun in the side bored to be tutored for against hate as it is easier to get the 16-17ish storm (especially with Flusterstorm) than it is to get the 45+ mana? (You mention Brain Freeze in your comment, is it supposed to be there already or am I misreading?)

I just got rid of Brain Freeze in the sideboard.

When I've played 15-16 spells, it's really easy for me to generate enough mana to kill via Blue Sun. Also, I'd rather not risk running into a random Emrakul.

Also, how does Flusterstorm help get me to 15-16 storm easier?

Sorry, no idea what I was thinking about Flusterstorm.

Have you thought about using Retraced Image or do you feel it doesn't warrant a space over any of the cards already there.

Fully understand why you take Blue Sun over Brain Freeze but would you not like to have the choice of which win con to use?

This deck's composition is highly based on the pilot. The exclusion of Brain Freeze from the deck is advice I got from Feline, the winner of the Legacy Open 2 days ago (she was playing this deck).

Retraced Image (and by extension Mind Over Matter ) are a great way to get use out of Islands during the combo turn, but I don't feel them necessary or better than the other cards in the deck. The number of draw and untap spells is a pretty solid lock. If the deck did not have Candelabra of Tawnos, then I'd consider Retraced Image.

In that case best of luck to you at the open, really hope you do well with what I see as a beautiful deck.

This is elegant. I think High Tide just won the last SCG Legacy open. Take a look at that.

Yeah, the winner (Feline) has helped me tweak the deck a bit. She's an amazing pilot of the deck.

This deck is awesome. Good luck in Baltimore.

have you considered Standstill it seems like a decent card draw in a legacy matchup. Especially if you're running into problems with discard.

Every one of my cards (Islands aside) are live cards during my combo turn. Standstill , on the other hand, is completely dead.

If discard is a big thing, I'll either leave High Tide at home or put some Divert or Misdirection in my sideboard (Legacy discard targets).

How quickly can a deck like this go off?

No. Turn 3 is possible, but difficult. Turn 4 and later is usual.

Next event will likely be a local Legacy tournament in February. Debating on if I want to judge or play in the DC SCG Legacy Open in March.

I'm still new to legacy. Can you explain how this actually wins?

Play High Tide so your Islands tap for more mana. Generate a lot of mana by tapping and untapping lands with Turnabout , Candelabra of Tawnos , and Time Spiral . Using all the draw and tutor spells to do this repeatedly until you can kill your opponent with a lethal card:Blue Sun's Zenith or Brain Freeze .

Like Enratic I am not used to Legacy, but why do you have Scalding Tarn and Misty Rainforest when you are playing mono-blue and have no landfall cards?

Fetch lands can thin the deck (though it has minimal effect), but more importantly it allows Brainstorm and Ponder to be used to full effect.

With Brainstorm I can draw 3 cards, put back 2 cards I don't want, then shuffle them away with a fetch land. Similarly, with Ponder , I can look at 3, and if there is 1 I really want and 2 I don't, I can draw the 1 then shuffle the other 2.

The simplicity and beauty of this deck is off the charts. +1 from me.
