You have some fun things happening here. Like it a lot. I would add some more basic lands as you don't have many and some of your ramp spells need them. This looks like it could be a bit mana hungry so I would personally run at least 36 lands. Also Sakura-Tribe Elder is a great card for this kind of deck. It's also super cheap and fairly easy to obtain which is nice. Wood Elves could be decent too. +1

Yea, I do need more basics. I was just about to do that. When I first saw the Sakura-Tribe Elder I was skeptical, because he caused lands to come in tapped, do you think I could run him in this deck? If so, what should I switch out for him?

Also, I need more lands. Any suggestions on what to switch for like 2 or 3 basics?

I would look at replacing harmonic sliver, hypnotist, and spike feeder with lands.

Yea, I never really saw Spike Feeder as a useful card. I have seen a combo where you can get infinite life with Mikeaus and a sac outlet, but alone he is just bad. Harmonic Sliver is a useful card as it can destroy artifacts/enchantments and I only have 2 of those. But Sadistic Hypnotist is a good sac outlet, granted it is expensive, but it also empties out your opponents' hand and keeps them from responding.

What about some replacements for some of the slower lands that I have? Maybe a replacement for the pain lands I have, such as Caves of Koilos.

But now that Spike Feeder is out Mikaeus, the Unhallowed just gives my creatures undying. I feel now that he is out of a combo he becomes more of a goodstuff card than a Karador card, should I replace him with something?
But my creatures do have a lot of ETB effects...

unless you're playing him for the 2/2 body, City of Solitude is like a way better Dosan, because it even stops people from using their utility creatures/lands. Entomb is kinda pricey, but it is really good in graveyard themed decks. Life from the Loam is a spell that saves lands you dredge, but it also lets you dredge three. You don't really have enough basic lands for Land Tax to be good, but you could probably cut some of your less useful lands and replace them with basics.

nayrash5 I am playing Dosan the Falling Leaf because as he is a creature and I can remove him whenever I want, then bring him back at the beginning of my turn because this is Abzan/Junk. I have considered Entomb, but didn't really know what to switch it for as I already have Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, and a reusable tutor Rune-Scarred Demon. Land Tax I have always looked over, it was just a good land fetcher, but the addition of Hermit Druid prompted for fewer basics. Do you think that I should just switch Land Tax should just be replaced with land? Also, do you think I should add more basic lands as I do have multiple land fetchers and seem to be holding back on playing those because I don't want to dredge my entire library with Hermit Druid, only most of it.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth? perhaps?
I also really like running Liliana of the Dark Realms in any of my black edh decks but I see you only have 2 swamps so she probably wouldn't be very beneficial.

@Nefferean: Well a combination of Urborg and Liliana Dark would be amazing for black mana.

..that being considered, I feel that having to replace cards to have a plainswalker that is especially useful if I have a certain land on my battlefield makes these two cards seem as a bit of a forced land devotioncombo. I could see Urborg itself being a good Black mana fixer, but otherwise it is kinda just a flashy land.
In short: I will not be adding either Urborg or Liliana, for now.

Sup dude.. sorry for posting in multiple locations, but in addition to my other post - I think I like Wight of Precinct Six here over Lord of Extinction. You get a similar effect with more combo synergy since it's a 2cmc. I also think you should have an Angel of Serenity if you're gonna run the Ashen Rider. I mean.. if you like what the rider does, why wouldn't you like even more of it? This would also allow you to get your own creatures back to your hands from anywhere which is a very, VERY strong thing.. my sub for the angel would probably be Terastodon.

I dunno if you sideboard for more removal or more recursion, but I would also keep a Fiend Hunter and Intrepid Hero around to deal with some unexpected things. They're always pretty good value and annoying as fuck.

Just my 2 cents in addition to my last 2 cents.. so now you have $.04 from me. lol

@ClutchWorks: Well, I may take out Lord of Extinction, but not for Wight of Precinct Six. If you see the thread that you also posted on you will see what I may switch for it. (or see the Angel of Serenity, if I experience too much hate from Iona I will be adding Serenity, or Archangel of Thune.
Fiend Hunter seems a bit underwhelming, as in Karador decks a creature never stays in the same field for very long.
Intrepid Hero. I want to like him. I really do, but he seems too slow, for too much mana, to remove too specific things.

If you keep lord of extinction in you should keep jarad in. I won a game tonight by flinging extinction for 80 DMG. Solemn Simulacrum is another good mana guy. Disciple of Bolas is fantastic. You should definitely have angel of serenity in there he just does so much for you. I don't care for aegis of the gods in this deck at all. If you lose your gy you can still recover. Also if your running mikaeus you should be running Woodfall Primus because if you have sac engine out you blow up all no creature permanents. There's no real big down side to running urborg. Has helped me out so many times.

Living Death is great to for gy recursion

It understandably costs a ton of mana, but Rise of the Dark Realms could straight-up win you the game upon resolution; for that, it might be worth considering.

Yosei, the Morning Star is a great way to hard lock opponents.

Miren, the Moaning Well would be another good sac outlet. Or Diamond Valley, if you can afford it.

+1, looks strong and fun to play. You should check out my deck, Karador, ETB Chieftain. You might get some evil ideas, and any suggestions are welcome.

@Lhurgyof: Yes Yosei is amazing for hard locking opponents. I have yet to attempt that, but come this Sunday I will most likely have.
I used to have Miren, the Moaning Well in this deck but it proved ineffective when I could just chump block everything and play it back out again either right after combat or on my next turn. I took it out because life total wasn't really a problem in this deck. I do have multiple life gain mechanics in this deck like . . . Serra Ascendant and . . . other .. things.

Resolute Archangel is a nice reset, Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is basically another eternal witness for black. Ashes to Ashes and Cannibalize are a very underrated removal

Epicpotato says... #23

aznb01777 These do seem like nice budget alternatives (except Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed), so they may not fit too well into this deck if there are already slightly more efficient cards already present. However, I will keep them in mind; my brother wants to make a similar deck to this one and may make it into a different list regardless. (love Cannibalize btw, can also be used as a Pump/Sac outlet)
