any thoughts on a riftsweeper if someone exiles a combo piece

@Nolfavrell1119 Honestly, this deck has been facing mostly aggressive strategies as of late, with very little specific exile or even graveyard hate. The other players are beginning to run things like Tormod's Crypt and Relic of Progenitus but it is still rather rare. Thus far I have been able to use things like Karmic Guide and Necromancy to save the most important pieces at instant speed.

However, the fact that I have not included Riftsweeper in the maindeck is purely a meta decision. To answer your question: if I had the need to move things back from exile consistently then Riftsweeper is absolutely my first choice. After that most likely Pull from Eternity.

(Also thank you for reminding me to add Riftsweeper to the sideboard)

Is there a specific reason Reanimate isn’t in here?

@BlackyMTG I've opted to use Dance of the Dead for the time being since Reanimate is rather expensive, not to mention the sheer number of aggro decks in my meta kinda makes Reanimate a really bad topdeck later in the game. More than likely I'll have it back in there once the Maelstrom Wanderer decks subside, but I will add it to the sideboard.

Thanks!

@Epicpotato I just kinda assumed by the cards you were already playing that you didn’t have much of a budget, but yeah I get that. I’ve been running into a lot of Hapatra and Muldrotha. I haven’t used either of my decks yet cuz they’re obviously not built yet, but I imagine the Hapatra will be easy to beat with my Nekusar. Muldrotha to me seems really broken, idk if that’s just me or not, but she seems really annoying.

@BlackyMTG that was the case about a year ago lol. This most recent update was about $20 total. I was trying really hard to make Muldrotha work but it just ended up trying to do to many things at once so I've left it on the back burner for now. As far as an endless recursion goes, I worry that whatever deck is produced from her backbone will lean way to heavily on Muldrotha to keep things going, but again I have stepped away for the time being.

Have you considered Ravenous Chupacabra, Viscera Seer, or Ramunap Excavator? Excavator is another crucible, chupacabra is more removal and also has a really cool name, and seer seems as though you can get some value when you’re low on resources with Karador out.

I’m almost positive you already knew this, but Entomb + Kozilek, Butcher of Truth can save you from grave wipes!

@BlackyMTG Sorry for the delay, went to bed lol.
Ravenous Chupacabra: Hm. Actually I may cut Yosei, the Morning Star since he hasn't actually done anything and people don't particularly enjoy being tapped down.
Viscera Seer: So far he would just be an alternate to Carrion Feeder to be fetched with Protean Hulk alongside Karmic Guide. As it stands I haven't run into the need to have a backup sacrifice outlet like him but perhaps it will lead to cutting something else in the near future.
Ramunap Excavator: I was actually on the verge of cutting Crucible of Worlds because, although it is powerful, it doesn't seem to be what this deck wants to do all the time. If it comes to that again I will be trying out the Excavator for a while before deciding whether to cut it.

Kozilek, Butcher of Truth: He is in here expressly for that purpose.
