Overview

American Control X* is designed to navigate and dictate Casual EDH games by cheating various X-Spells cost that increasingly complicate the boardstate.

*Reference to American History X; directed by Tony Kaye; written by David McKenna. Reconstruct History among many other cards are thematic, references and representative of "America Control" deck strategy.

Mana Base: Land/Ramp/Fixing

Optimum but imperfect Land Base that fulfills Mana Curve and Pip requirements but cannot combat $T4X.

An abundance of Mana Rocks assist the Pip hungry deck and cumulatively power out Mana for larger X-Spells. Mana Geyser.

Utility Land are few, specific and rarely necessary.

Win Condition

Damage from Instant and Sorcery spells.

Fiery Emancipation amplifies Comet Storm, Meteor Blast and Crackle with Power damage, while remaining play sequence friendly with Mana Geyser and Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy.

Note: Common and powerful win conditions were purposefully excluded.

Support: Tutor/Draw/Other

Seven best-in-color Tutors.

Draw is abundant, varied: Draw spells, Cantrip, Mass Draw and Draw per Cast.

Vast, complex and deep Protection package: Equipment, Mass Phase Out, Swerve spell, Mass Tap and Mass Bounce.

For longevity and consistency, the deck includes sizeable and balanced Instant and Sorcery Recursion package, while Reconstruct History, Dance of the Manse and Sevinne's Reclamation are designated for Permanents.

Interaction

Medium size Counter Magic package but mostly catch-all.

Dense Permanent Interaction: Mind Control effects, Targeted Damage/Destroy/Exile/Shuffle Removal (Many target any Permanent) and Mass Removal (Creature, Non-Creature and Nonland Permanent; but all are asymmetrical).

General/Commander

Hinata, Dawn-Crowned's role is to Support; reduce X-Spell and multi-Target spell cost.
