Maybeboard


Goal: Keep your commander on the field and flash everything until you can get Approach to stick.

The things in the maybe board are pretty much just counter spells, I wanted enough room for Baral to fit in a little better, but I couldnt really decide what could be cut. This hasn't been tested more than a handful of times so please give me feedback about how it plays.

The easiest way this deck will work I think is Approach however that doesn't mean your other cards are totally useless:

-Mishra, Saheelis Artistry, Karn, and Metallurgic Summonings are all here really just for Mechanized Production. I'm gonna find a way to squeee those cards back in. An alternate win con is always helpful, mishra can create them as fast as you have historics, and Karn and Metallurgic create the same named tokens so you don't have to try as hard. This could also maybe be achieved with treasure tokens, but that might prove more difficult.

-Traxos alone gains huge value from nearly every card in the deck.

The other cards in the deck are either meant to control the field until I can make my magic happen, or draw into Approach faster.

Updates Add

After playtesting I got enough experience under the belt to swap out some stuff.

Teshar did not have enough targets in the deck in order to justify a slot. Same goes for Primal Amulet. 1 less for I/S was great, but it's land effect was not helpful at all. In place of these I put Glimmer of Genius, and Mirage Mirror.

Swapped Cancel for Disappearing Act. Hoping that bouncing a historic or maybe even Torrential Gearhulk will benefit the deck more than a simple counter.

I realize I have 0 slots for field wipe/spot removal. I told myself I love my field too much to do it, but after some plays I could surely use some. I've been thinking of Fumigate or even that leviathan that bounces several creature types. Please let me know what removal would be useful for this deck, and what cuts could be made to benefit the deck :)
