i play this on bo1 historic ladder.

It's not great, but I don't think this archetype (sultai gyruda) can get a lot better. ultimatum is more flexible and more powerful.

I think a common pattern while playing this deck is to not focus on gyruda. If you can get chupacabra + thassa/spark double rolling against aggro, you're more likely to win than if you just play gyruda. If you can bait your opponent into holding a counterspell for a few turns while your opponent knows you have gyruda in hand by casting atris and spark double first, you're more likely to win than if you just ran that gyruda into a counterspell.
