I recommend taking out Phyrexian Altar because it seems to do nothing in here. Usually if you have three mana you want to use it on something important not an altar.

If I have three mana, I can have up to 32 mana. It was a difficult card to include, but it is more or less necessary to my engine's consistency

I assume Street Wraith is in here because you couldn't find any other 0 drop creatures so he's card draw, right?
I have a similar deck Less satisfying than kobolds. * which is $550 cheaper and built for a format called Bad Tribal (if you're interested, read the description) in which I run Phyrexian Marauder since it triggers as a creature spell even if you cast it for zero mana.
- the name is because it's based upon a kobold tribal version of the same thing which was far more expensive and a bit less effective. But kobolds. Sad.

cleinen561 - More than once have I run short and cannot draw Grapeshot. That is where such cards as Scapegoat (and, in a previous build, Shared Discovery) come in very handy. Unfortunately, such things cost mana, and sometimes you can only very realistically get up to three mana. It is a very mana-hungry engine I run, oftentimes, making Altar a controversial but very important inclusion.
AricMcDonald - I used to run Marauder, but sometimes you just need a free cantrip. If I don't have Glimpse or Beck, Marauder isn't very useful. By the way, your deck looks sweet - Quest for the Holy Relic looks like an awesome card to build around!

You could try Mob Justice instead of Grapeshot. Beck / Call is awesome, I think I'll add it into mine. You might also want Contested War Zone, considering how many creatures you'll have. If you go Vintage with this deck, you can add Skullclamp, Mystical Tutor, Fastbond, and Dryad Arbor. Those last 2 cards tend to be really useful. Other than that, nice deck!

Thank you! Mob Justice looks sweet, but it falls prey to the one problem I discussed before, though even I missed this finer detail: if I need to sac creatures to fuel my storm count (by means of mana production by Phyrexian Altar), it grows weaker. Also, Grapeshot makes many copies, whereas Mob Justice dies to a single Force of Will. Nifty, but GS is more resilient.
As for Contested War Zone - that's something I did not even come close to thinking of, and it looks super awesome! Unfortunately, the necessity of coloured mana (did I mention this deck is very mana-hungry? If I did, I apologise for my repetition) is so extreme that I was forced to add two rainbow lands just to make ends meet.
As for Vintage - I'm alright. I'll pass on the Black Lotus format for just a bit longer. If someone else would care to take this and Vintage-ify (read: break the shit out of) this deck, they are more than welcome.

It seems after a few tests that your deck seems to want about two mana for the combo, but I consistently could only generate one, and then let the combo fall flat, I'd recommend some number of Dryad Arbor, as they fit both the roll of 0 drop creature and mana fixing, additionally, I like Scapegoat as a 3-4 of, probably over phyrexian altar. Tell me what you think of my suggestions! Great deck +1

Thanks for the feedback, teamawesome1! I've considered Dryad Arbor, but it doesn't trigger Glimpse of Nature and it doesn't give me mana now. However, it is an interesting idea, still, so I'll hold onto it. No promises.
Scapegoat is a lot of fun, honestly; I feel so productive casting it. However, I would not put in more over Phyrexian Altar, and I definitely would not go up to four. Too much of a good thing, you know. The trick with this deck is setting up the Engine - at least two Glimpse effects (ideally, three). Everything else is secondary. Altar gives me so much bang for my buck, once I get that, and if I have the first Engine piece assembled, I almost can't lose. Generating like twenty mana on turn one and casting Grapeshot in Legacy is really what life's all about.
Thanks for the suggestions! You've given me a fair amount to consider, and now I'm gonna go full-ham and make a proper primer for this deck (probably something I should have done around the +20 mark or sooner, but oh well).

Please keep me in the loop for the primer! It truly is a wonderful design space you're working with here! Good luck!

i wonder if Wizards intended kobolds to be used this way! great deck +1.

After playing the deck a few times I would remove 2x Phyrexian Altar and replace with maybe two spirit guides, I'd rather draw free mana then a completely dead card.

If you can somehow figure out a good way to give your creatures haste, maybe Cryptolith Rite?
July 18, 2016 2:51 p.m.
maybe -2 Phyrexian Altar, -2 Street Wraith, +2 Goblin Bushwhacker, +2 Cryptolith Rite.

Take out the Phyrexian Altar, I don't see the use. That said, sweet deck! +1
