Sideboard Adjustments After FNM —July 26, 2024
Unfortunately I completely scrubbed out tonight.... 0-2 against yawgmoth (somehow just got completely mana flooded both games)... Then I had a bye (of course the deck works great in games that don't count)... then I played against Dimir Murktide and went 0-2 (combination of getting punished by Orcish Bowmasters and not being able to remove/making Murktide Regent very BIG was the recurring theme of those games.
Both Yawgmoth and Murktide matchups hit me with Bowmasters and wow does that card feel bad to play against... not really sure there is much I can do about it though.
However Murktide is something I can better prepare for; putting in Relic of Progenitus to help eat away at the graveyard in general and dropping Lightning Axe in favor of Big Game Hunter for killing the big fatty (even sacking foods with Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar couldn't save me.
I truly hate Skoa, Embermage... doesnt really pop like I hoped; honestly just running Lightning Bolt feels better.... Buried Alive on the other hand can potentially result in a HUGE turn 4 play... the deck is usually pretty fast (when it works) but buried alive can give a second chance for a slow start

When your running Goblin Lore and Burning Inquiry why not unironically run Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded lol... yoooo that frog seems like a great idea! I was using Oona's Prowler as a pressure/discard outlet but the frog seem like it could be great! I'm gonna give it a try over tibalt lol

I once tried to make psychic frog + rootwalla + Call to the Netherworld + Street Wraith work (it didnt)

Sounds greedy but certainly a neat idea! The frog has been an incredible add for this deck so far... sometimes I never see it or it ends up being randomly discarded... but its fantastic for being a discard outlet and sometimes becomes a relevant threat. In loving the suggestion so far.

It’s been quite awhile since I faced off against a Hollowvine variation. This looks pretty solid—do the MH3 cards feel like a noticeable upgrade?
