Maybeboard


A simple Aura Hexproof EDH deck with Geist of Saint Traft as its commander and a hint of control. This deck has been years in the making, being my first commander deck (And best) and has seen some pretty bad decisions made on it (Just look at the updates I was trash). Now I can safely say that this deck is pretty good, not quite competitive as I would definitely add a few sweet sweet expensive cards but my wallet says NOPE so for what it is I enjoy it quite a bit. Not my friends though, most of them hate me playing this deck.

Seriously though its really not hard to guess what do to here

A few great cards to look for are Angelic Destiny, Spectra Ward, Auramancer's Guise, Shielded by Faith, Celestial Mantle, Daybreak Coronet, and Copy Enchantment. Obviously there are more enchantments but the list is up there not down here

Combos

There are a few combos here that can secure a kill or simply piss everyone off (Which is great)

I noticed I was starting to suffer when I was blocked every turn, and there is basically no such thing as a blue and/or white enchantment that gives a creature trample, so I added Sword of Vengeance as an additional countermeasure

Of course, the enemy always thinks they're so crafty and try to take away your fun, so here are ways to stop them from doing that

  • Counter target spell. No explanation needed (I hope)

  • Ghostly Prison and Sphere of Safety. Really encourages them to not attack you, but they will anyway

  • Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice. Works wonderfully with anything els on the field, with (most) enchantments having at least 1 other same CMC in the deck

  • Elspeth, Knight-Errant to make stuff indestructible and for both her plus ones, first for chump blocking and 2 for buffing Geist

  • Darksteel Plate gives indestructibility and is indestructible

Win Cons or things that give you that edge over the enemy:

There is enough draw in this deck. Most people will not be a challenge, however it cannot cope with too many enemies. I was thinking of Austere Command and a few other mass removals but with Cyclonic Rift and the other 3 board wipes seem to have been enough.

Updates Add

After many a game, I decided that the payoff of Starfield of Nyx fell short as it could not take full advantage of all the auras, also took out Blessed Spirits, which wasn't very useful, and replaced both of them with plains. While 35 lands worked it always felt as if I always needed one more land. We'll see how this goes.
