Umm... I don't get all the votes lol, I tried this deck and immediately died lol. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Oh yeah, and the deck i paired against this was a hand discard deck. :P

The problem was that he probably made you get rid of all your buffs before you could use them. Its good and can win fairly easily if you get off all your buffs as soon as you can.

Why not Naturalize instead of Unravel the Aether ?

Naturalize can't destroy Gods. Maybe Fade into Antiquity may be useful as well, but costs a little bit more.

I don't know if anyone suggested it yet, but the deck would have the ability to deal 20 damage a little quicker using 4x Zhur-Taa Swine instead of the 4x Spire Tracer . Otherwise love the theme!

Best standard deck by far! I've played this deck and it runs amazing, but ive played it with Signal the Clans and it works amazingly, also swapping out Gladecover Scout for Wasteland Viper is also something to look at!

Wasteland Viper would do wonderful as might Firedrinker Satyr .

I'm just starting out again in Magic after not playing for around ten years. I chose this deck for my first FNM as it looked cheap, fun and fairly easy to play. I did well with it, so I thought I would share my experience with the deck for those interested.

I easily won my first two matches 2-0 against Boros weenie decks. They just let my creatures through, even after I had given them double strike... This deck is really capable of blindsiding people. Armed / Dangerous performed incredibly well; it probably earned me at least half of my wins.

My next opponent was one of the more serious players at this particular shop, and he was using a Sphinx's Revelation deck. I managed to eke out a 2-1 win, though I definitely would not have been capable of it without the good draws I had. I won the last game by spending every last card in my hand and tapping all of my mana out.

I lost the final match 0-2 to a Boros midrange deck. I had absolutely awful draws, getting flooded with land in one game, and drawing no land the next. I felt like a win was possible, the Gladecover Scout dodges his removal, and siding in Ranger's Guile can help your other creatures get the damage in. I could have easily raced this deck, if I only had a decent draw.

What do you think about Temple of Abandon in this deck? The scry would be helpful at any point, as I felt that this deck lives or dies on getting the right draw.

But it kills by getting a turn 1 start... so temples are not as great as in say esper or azorius..

Took this to Standard on Monday, came in last place. Only difference was I was running Mugging instead of Skylasher . There were only 6 people playing, and round one I got paired with a buddy of mine who knows this deck's gimmick, so he was ready with kill spells and black control. Round two I went up against a GW aggro, lost 2-1 - he gained life insanely fast, and even when I sided in Skullcrack I never drew any. Round 3 I went up against a rookie with the M14 Gruul event deck, so I let him win to show him how to play out his combat tricks.

I must just be a terrible magic player, because in theory this deck is superb.

No. This deck is very weak vs removal decks.

You might want to use Titan's Strength instead of Giant Growth . You don't need the toughness and you might need the scry, to get rid of stupid lands...

I can't seem to get this deck to work properly. Do I just not fit it's startegy? Or am I just doing something wrong?
