There's very little reason not to run Negates in the mainboard, 2-of in my opinion. It's too useful for vehicles, planeswalkers, pump spells, draw spells, enemy counters, removal... I run 2 main in Grixis Control and almost never take them out. Better than Ceremonious Rejection imo, I like a 2-1 split.

You have no non-creature removal, R/W Aggro will just play right under you and other control decks can force you to tap out once they learn your game. A single planeswalker resolving could spell defeat for you.

I'd swap Engulf the Shore for more counters/draw. Fill out Void Shatter, add some soft counter like Revolutionary Rebuff, maybe Anticipate. Soft counters will give you a tempo edge over things like copter, sylvan advocate, or early walkers.

I'm actually playtesting anticipate as it seems like a decent card with Metallurgic Summonings but I literally just cut Revolutionary Rebuff as it only works well on curve so you need a lot of them and in the current meta it misses since very important artifact targets. I love the card, but it needs a meta that isn't so artifact heavy.

Fair enough. I run a similar UB Metallurgic Summonings deck, Revolutionary Rebuff is nice to play on curve and it can buy a turn vs Electrostatic Pummeler combos but I almost always board it out for situational counters.

Yeah, I cut it because I always find myself boarding it out for negate and not finding use for it in most matches. I love the card because it reminds me of Mana Leak but it's downside isn't meant for this meta IMO.

The few edits I'd make are:
Take out Fortune's Favor for another Jace, Unraveler of Secrets because Fortune's Favor is simply more risky.
Add in one more Void Shatter, Negate, or Scatter to the Winds for one Ceremonious Rejection. You can just move them around from the sideboard. It seems like all three of them can counter more things than Ceremonious Rejection.
Take out one Sphinx of the Final Word in the sideboard for a Horribly Awry. I don't know what the people at your store play, but personally, practically nobody ever tries to counter my counterspells and if they do, I'll side in Dispell. Horribly Awry shuts down aggro and some midrangey decks and is a lot cheaper.
Other than that, it looks pretty awesome! Sorry for not getting around to this earlier.

Beyond your lands, why not playing Westvale Abbey Flip and Geier Reach Sanitarium ? As you are control deck, these cards offers more reach by create a token with your not-used mana and loot abilty to find better answer, and even discard your opponent card if his hand is empty.
Anticipate should be consider also, don't you find ? lower your curve, deep into your deck

Rise from the Tides is a great card for this type of deck as well as Part the Waterveil. There is a decent article on mono blue that came out a few months ago before rotation if you wanted some ideas. http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/deck-of-the-day-mono-blue-prison/

Thanks gamer.ray, I've been updating the deck today so the card counts have been a little off. Pretty sure I'm making it better with every variation though.

Why 2 Geier Reach and 1 Cataract? I'd have though 1 Geier and 2 Cataract would be better.

Baral, Chief of Compliance was made for this deck. I'm currently in process of making something similar myself except including the cards spoiled in AER nice build.

Thoughts on the new additions from Aether Revolt? There are a couple blue cards that might be good additions...Mechanized Production and Baral?
