I suggest Prophet of Kruphix it works very well so you don't need to worry about swinging for damage and not having blockers :)

I love that card, but I don't know what I would cut for it. What do you think?
The curve is a bit high already, which makes it more difficult

Cut the two Prime Speaker Zegana they aren't good in this deck.
Also cut the 2 Loxodon Smiter . They are amazing, but not recommended in this deck type
Another option is to remove 1 prime speaker and 3 fathom mages for 4 Prophet of Kruphix if you wanna keep the smiters

I think Omenspeaker may be a bit of a drag on the deck. It looks like you need more answers for your opponents' things. Otherwise, you're playing solitaire, and without too much interaction, you'll lose before you can get anything off. I'd recommend Dissolve , Last Breath , or things of that regard.
Also, on the original list, it had Garruk, Caller of Beasts . Those, I think, are better at finding your combo than Omenspeaker .
Fleecemane Lion is good for the aggro, and is a bomb if it goes on monstrosity, but does it help with protecting your other guys and securing the combo? I think Courser of Kruphix could fill this role, even though it's a three drop to help smooth out your draws and get life gain in against aggro.
All-in-all, I really like the combo, and I'm trying to build a Bant Control list (admittedly, bias towards it over aggro/midrange). The only reason I wouldn't play the combo in control is the constant board wipe situations. I hope Bant gets better in Standard with BNG. +1

thanks for the suggestions!
Garruk, Caller of Beasts looks great. I'm not sure that the deck needs him as the top of the curve since I'm leaning towards the aggro approach, but I'll test it a bit since the card advantage is amazing.
Fleecemane Lion is great here, putting pressure on, blocking really well, and being a pain for control decks. Courser of Kruphix seems great as well.
Last Breath and Dissolve do give me a bit more interaction (which I would like) so I'll look at those.

I don't really have anything specific to say, but I have a very similar deck that I think you should check out: Silence in the Library. It's been doing really well so far. Oh and +1

Thanks, yours looks like a very different approach but I like it (and the Dr. Who reference)!

I chose Fleecemane Lion over Voice of Resurgence for its ability to block 2 power attackers. This deck is weaker to fast aggro than it is to midrange/control, so the toughness seemed good.
Also, it's out of my budget unless the deck looks like it is on the edge of putting up real results.
Thanks for the suggestion though

K have you considered Courser of Kruphix instead of Loxodon Smiter ?

Yes I have, and I think it is a great choice!
I don't have any right now though, and won't buy them until I'm sure I will pursue this deck further. I have a few events lined up this week after a while away from mtg, so we'll see after that.
On the other hand, "can't be countered" is one of my strengths against UWx mid game. Could be that the 7 flash creatures are enough on that front though.

Have you seen the most recent cards coming out? Specifically, I mean the new Ajani and the new blue heroic MONSTER, Sage of Hours. Check them out. I think they fit here very nicely with the infinite counters from this combo.

Chord of Calling would help you with your combo a lot. there's also a trick you can play using Yisan, the Wanderer Bard and Kiora's Follower . Adding a verse counter is a cost to activate his ability, but the ability will check the number of verse counters as it resolution. Yisan has two verse counters, you activate his ability (adding a third), respond by untapping him with Kiora's Follower and activating his ability again (adding a fourth), then both abilities resolve and you search for two creatures with a converted mana cost of four. It's good for finding Fathom Mage and Horizon Chimera in the same turn. then next turn you get a archangel for your five converted mana cost creature, evolve fathom mage and trigger the combo.

I've seen some similar lists running 4 Elvish Mystic at the low end to ramp faster to Prime Speaker Zegana and/or Angel of Serenity
now I happen to love both of those bomb cards, but I'm not sure the deck is really better with them in it.
Anyone tried this deck either way or just have an opinion on which version is better?
