@JaysomeDecks - Y'know, surely I must have seen Deranged Hermit a thousand times over my countless hours of research, and yet I never really noticed it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I'll find a spot for it :)

why no Cephalid Constable? it goes so well with Ezuri, especially if you are running anything that gives you trample or unblockability like lambholt?

@wraithen2k - I actually used to run Cephalid Constable in a much earlier version of this deck. In that incarnation, Constable never really impressed. However, I was not running Champion of Lambholt or Whirler Rogue at that time. It may very well be time for Constable to squeeze its way back in. Thanks for bringing this gem back to mind! :)

You get an up vote for having the best name do for this stuff EVER. Love it!

@MutilatedxBunny - Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Nice deck +1. What about Collected Company ? More than 20 targets for it

@AlmightyTentacle - Great suggestion, Cthulu! I think CoCo would perform very well in this build. Thanks!

Birthing Pod is an effective alternate choice to Collected Company, and it's reusable! though, now that i think about it, it's not nearly as good because your targets aren't nearly worth the trade-off, unfortunately....

@feyn_do_alduin - True, but I already run Birthing Pod, and I've found it to be mostly useful. I would run it alongside Collected Company, not instead of.

Have you considered Prophet of Kruphix vs Seedborn Muse? Seems like a pretty solid replacement and only losing 1 toughness isn't a game changer. Flash seems useful and it would allow us to do sick things in multiplayer.... 3 or 4 untap phases and flashy creatures.

Prophet of Kruphix banned in EDH.

That seems right, thanks!

@allastocata - Lol, I actually used to run Prophet of Kruphix before I knew it was banned. The first time it saw play was in a 6-player game, and it absolutely destroyed my opponents! After the game, they were all super salty and demanded that I check the banlist. Sure enough, Prophet was banned. They rejoiced; I cried.

I know it is expensive as hell, but have you ever considered Gaea's Cradle?

June 14, 2017 5:51 p.m.

allastocata says... #15

What about Rhonas's Monument? Reducing the commander cost and the cost of roughly 1/3 of the deck seems good, and to be able to buff and more importantly give trample seems really good.

@Daniboydas - Lol... Yep, i've considered Gaea's Cradle, but I've also considered not starving xD It would be great in the list, but I'm just not willing to pay that much for it. Thanks, though!

@allastocata - Hm... Rhonas's Monument might not be bad, especially considering i can give any target the buff, not just the creature triggering the ability. You've given me some food for thought, and I thank you!

Also why Viridian Joiner in the maybeboard instead of Gyre Sage? Am I missing something because I see gyre superior in everyway in this deck?

It is good to see that other people are still trying to push Mr. Claw as far as they can as well. It was starting to look like a lot of people had given up on him. I had taken a break from this site for a while and wanted to see how much progress Your claw build had gotten while I have been gone. I have to say I am impressed you stream lined it so much. It is probably one of the most memorable decks on here.

It is starting to look like my version of him is very different then most of the builds I have seen on here. I would be most interested in the guy who has the highest rated Claw of progress deck's opinion on mine. It is vastly different then what you are expecting I can promise you that. Please take a look, It won't claw much I promise: EzurggroTech

@allastocata - The reason I have Viridian Joiner in the maybeboard rather than Gyre Sage is because I have played many games where I was able to put out Sage, but I had other cards on the field that were more deserving of counters. Note that Gyre Sage will only produce mana if it has counters. Now, it is likely to evolve, but probably no more than twice. Contrarily, Viridian Joiner taps for mana equal to its power, not its counters. This means that it will definitely tap for at least one mana. I could give it counters to increase the yield, of course... but it also combos with cards such as Cultivator of Blades for second main phase shenanigans. For those reasons, I feel it is worth the one extra mana. Hope that answers your question :)

@Hipparchos - Thank you! I'm constantly looking for ways to improve it, so it is likely to change as new sets are released or as past treasures resurface.

@Erastaroth_The_Duchess_of_Hell - I shall never give up on Ezuri, Claw of Progress! His 2015 precon was how I got into Commander, and now it's hands-down my favorite format. Thank you for your kind words! I like to think that I've managed to trim the fat; this list is pretty lean, and every card has earned its place in the list. I've also tried to make it fun and interactive. Could I run counterspells? Sure, but I like to see my opponents get their cards out on the field. I'd be happy to give your list a gander! :D

Hi, great decklist. I was just wondering since you don't seem to have any other form of real +counter generetaion other than Ezuri himself, making him very crucial. How do you deal with spot removal and commander hate without protection in the form of counterspells, hexproof etc?

Does Dungrove Elder seems good here?I'm building a claw deck and thinking of putting it in.

Why not run Deepglow Skate. Doubling all the counters on your creatures is so good.

Mirage Mirror - can switch multiple times a turn and you have some lovely things that would be fun to have 2 of in play at once.

Just a thought.
