Well, shit. I guess I actually have to add some win-cons, huh? Well Chasm Skulker seems to fit the bill. Not too expensive, gets bigger over time and gives me weenies when he dies. In they go!

And yes Stormtide Leviathan could very easily find its way into this deck. I'll test a couple Stormtide vs a playset of Chasm Skulker and see which holds up better. Thanks for the feedback it really does help

Sorry if this was already asked but what about Dictate of Kruphix and Monastery Siege for more draw power?

Would love to see an optimized build of this for modern!

-3 Whisk Away, +3 Crippling Chill. Both are instants that cost 2u, get a creature out of the way for over a couple turns and either set me ahead or set my opponent back in terms of card advantage. However, Crippling Chill has way more use alongside the newly added Chasm Skulker. It can be used to prevent blocks and the draw 1 helps boost Skulker out of burn range sooner.

I just played this deck against a couple of other decks and I gotta say, I felt like a complete dick. Thanks and well done.

How about a Stormtide Leviathan or two to make sure your 1/1 are unblockable?
February 28, 2015 7:43 p.m.
Force Away is universally better than Hubris and it also helps chasm get bigger if need be.

i built a mono blue control bounce nerf deck all common uncommon turns his aggro deck into an 18+ turn win for him(mine has no win con and probly will never will) just made it for the lols though might make it a devotion with master of waves and thasa i normaly have a high devotion out there lol like 10+ in a few turns
but yea i love this lol id totally do something like this to bug him and his mono red splash white burn -_-

what about splashing white for Loyal Pegasus? also, i think that Oppressive Rays can give you more tempo than Void Snare versus faster decks

Bought this deck and can't wait to play it at FNM. I might add a Stormtide Leviathan as a 61st card to prevent milling myself to death.

If aggro is a serious problem, Triton Tactics can be useful too. Not so much on Vaporkin/Welkin Tern, but works nicely with the other guys.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I always prefer cheap clever decks vs expensive guaranteed decks. It's why in Yugioh I always played frogs. Just curious how woukd you add thassa god of the sea in?

Lol I always used frogs in yugioh too until they banned Substitoad :P As for adding in Thassa, I really wouldn't know, I've never tried it. Go ahead and experiment tho.

If you're looking for bomb/big hitter, Illusory Angel is great. Scion of Glaciers can also hit up to 6 damage.
Since most of your spells have low CMC, most likely you'll run out of hands in turn 5-6, so some draw spells like Divination or Jace's Ingenuity would be nice. Or maybe Enhanced Awareness if you want some gimmick. Refocus can net you a surprise blocker and a draw
If you decide to use Frost Walker, then Force Away is a must
Neutralizing Blast or Disdainful Stroke is also a consideration depending on the meta in your LGS
Either way, it's a solid deck. If you find a compatible bomb this deck could be deadly. +1

When DoT comes, Shorecrasher Elemental will probably go down in value a lot. One or two might be good because of its ability to say "piss off" to your opponents middle fingers and then give a bird to his life total from pump. It still might be to expensive though...

I played a game on MTGO with this deck last night and it was insanely fun. I got a crappy draw and still had enough to keep him off balance. One mistake I made was letting Chasm Skulker get too big. I should have made it enticing to kill him at some point to release the squids. I think he was a 13/13 at the end when I tapped his last creature and was able to go in for the kill.
Thanks for this deck...I made a derivative of it that is nowhere near as good...this drawing business is fun.

What would you do if this wasn't budget? Are there any cards that you would swap in/out? btw, cool deck. +1

The only other card I can think of adding if this wasn't budget would be Thassa, God of the Sea, and I have no idea what i would take out for her
March 13, 2015 5:15 p.m.
what about sidisi's faithful? it can exploit itself, so it' s like a void snare, but can also be a 0/4 blocker

I took this deck to FNM too and I went 2-5. I don't know if I made the same mistakes as SFMufasa but to me it seemed like I was dominating in early game, but I just didn't have a good win con in the late game (like turn 8-9, I was doing awesome until then getting two or three in at a time with flyers). I was just not getting the last hit before the opponent got something together. Maybe adding a Stormtide Leviathan or two would help, especially when this deck already has a bunch of flyers?
