Hi,i started EDH with a Sliver deck myself :)
Mistveil Plains
and Volrath's Stronghold
were allstars in my deck as they help recovering from mass removal. There's probably no other general with whom Mistveil Plains
work better than Sliver Overlord
, as you tutor up everything anyway so it doesn't matter whether you put things on top or on the bottom of your library anyway. Similarly I loved Crib Swap
in my deck as it was basically a tutorable Swords to Plowshares
and in combination with Mistveil Plains
infinitely recurable.
Another removal all star is Harsh Mercy
:)
Steely Resolve
acts as a second Crystalline Sliver
which survives sweepers and helped me out a lot.
Looking at your creatures, I'm missing Predatory Sliver
and Frenetic Sliver
in your deck. Frenetic Sliver
is a 50% chance to survive (mass) removal for every sliver which will most likely leave you with several creatures after each mass removal while your opponents have none themselves. Predatory Sliver
is just a third copy of Muscle Sliver
but honestly I'd run 10 versions of him if I could.
You run several slivers which didn't make the cut for my deck as they simply dont feel good enough, you might want to try focusing on bringing out Sliver Overlord
asap as he allows you to get the best slivers rather than wasting turns casting mediocre slivers such as Spectral Sliver
or Two-Headed Sliver
. Quite honestly I'd rather run Mirror Entity
or Taurean Mauler
before running mediocre slivers if you want to stick to such a high creature count.
Last but not least you could add more tutors such as Vampiric Tutor
, Demonic Tutor
, Eladamri's Call
, Wargate
, Green Sun's Zenith
etc. in case your general gets tugged or to get a Harsh Mercy
, Steely Resolve
, Chromatic Lantern
or Patriarch's Bidding

Thanks for the great comment man. I appreciate it. I tried to put in most of your ideas because they seem really good. There were a few things I could not find a spot for, any suggestions on what to take out?

Considering I run very few basic lands Last Stand would not be very good in this deck. If i had all the shock lands though, well then it would be amazing. But thats a lot of money lol.

Sliver decks are the complete bane of my existence. this one looks like a great one, and one that would be a good duel!!! love the ideas!

Then you take control of them with Overlord and sacrifice them for Necrotic Sliver or the like...

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like an asshole, but Extinction and Spreading Plague would stop this whole deck.

Adding Heartstone to the deck will allow for unlimited sliver tokens given a specific setup is in play. With either mana producing sliver out, heartstone, sliver queen, and a haste giving sliver one could easily tap one mana to produce a sliver then tap new sliver token for mana to produce another and so on and so forth! So after producing a solid oh lets go nice and say 500 sliver tokens? Swing with any slivers you have after Sliver Legion is in play and lets call it game!
Either way with unlimited tokens you can never let that combo slide away

saltedpeanuts: Overlord is the General, so most of the time it's going to be diponible as long as the owner has mana to pay for it.
With "or the like" I meant any other sliver with sacrificing abilities, not only Necrotic. Acidic, Basal, Darkheart.

I'm not really a fan of the Maze's End package you're running, because it means you're playing 10 guildgates. I'd recommend playing the trilands from Alara (Seaside Citadel , Arcane Sanctum , Crumbling Necropolis , Savage Lands , Jungle Shrine ) if you can. And given that you can't produce more than one mana from Amulet of Vigor each turn, you might want to swap it for something like Fellwar Stone to produce more colors.
Firewake Sliver and Blur Sliver are both worth considering, since they make Gemhide Sliver useful a turn sooner, and no sane opponent is going to let you untap with a Gemhide Sliver more than once.
Praetor's Counsel is always good in EDH if you can handle the mana.
Heartstone is a worse version of Training Grounds that is slightly less likely to get blown up, since it helps everyone.

Along with Crib Swap , stuff like Blades of Velis Vel or Wings of Velis Vel are funny because you can target a problem creature, turn it into a sliver, then steal it with Sliver Overlord :D
Also, Dormant Sliver +Basal Sliver +Sliver Queen =Draw your entire deck!

I like the deck! +1
I'd highly recommend adding in Mirror Entity . That thing can win games out of nowhere in my Overlord deck.

+1 for slivers! I too don't like having friends, that's why I built a Sliver deck too! Wrath of the Hive Mind

I thought about that before, its definitely a good idea. But I own a Maze's End and I wanted an excuse to play it in something. Lol. Thanks for the suggestion though. Nice deck by the way.
