Do you like aggro decks? Do you like control decks? Do you like combo decks? Do you wish all 3 were possible with the same deck? Wish no more, let me introduce you to my newest brew!

This deck has so many synergies, that you will find yourself getting 3 for ones without too much effort. So without further ado lets get to the deck breakdown

Deck Overview

Token Makers

Token_Makers

  • Precinct Captain - The Captain is a major player for us so he's a auto 4x. He gives us 2 devotion for Athreos, God of Passage, he's a Human for Xathrid Necromancer, he gives us soldier tokens to throw at Dictate of Erebos, oh ya he has First Strike too.
  • Xathrid Necromancer - While we aren't running only humans we are still running 18 humans, and since we are sacrificing our guys anyway, we might as well get zombies from the majority of them. He also helps give us a return swing after a Supreme Verdict
  • Brimaz, King of Oreskos - The King of Oreo's! A 3/4 Vigilant body for 3 is just fine as it is, but when it gives 2 devotion and gives tokens on the swing and defense its only downside is that its a legend.

Sac Outlets

Sac_Outlets

  • Cartel Aristocrat - Sac outlet #1. Granting protection is nice, but really its just a free sac outlet on a 2/2 human body that gives 2 devotion. Still trying to figure out if I want 3 of these and only 2 Vizkopa Guildmages.
  • Varolz, the Scar-Striped - Our second sac outlet. Varolz is also one of our only two green cards. He gives us a resilient body that can survive board wipes, and the scavenge ability is nothing to scoff at either. He really makes decisions hard for opponents when we pair him with Athreos, God of Passage.

Utility Creatures

Utility_Creatures

  • Soldier of the Pantheon - This is our only 1 drop, and he's only a 3 of. This deck doesn't need to be attacking as early as turn 2, but when we can it helps. He pairs well with several other aspects of the deck, being a Human is a big factor for having him.
  • Vizkopa Guildmage - The guildmage was the most recent addition. It was a Pain Seer at one time, and it was Underworld Coinsmith at another time. I like the guildmage since it can give some lifelink in the mid game which can be critical as you shock yourself and slowly drain from Mana Confluence. It also serves as a way to get some reach by activating the second ability after giving your biggest guy lifelink.
  • Voice of Resurgence - The Second big reason we are playing Green. Voice has always been a monster ever since he hit the scene a year ago. While he only gives 1 devotion to our God he is such a powerhouse it doesn't really matter. He's usually one of the first guys on the chopping block when I need to sac a creature. When we're running 30 creatures the Token gets big quickly and stays big.
  • Athreos, God of Passage - This God is what makes this deck truly scary. Most of our small creatures have double colored mana costs so if you drop this God on turn 3 you will have a very likely chance of swinging with him on turn 4. His ability helps keep him active as a creature too. Either your opponent loses 3 life or Athreos brings your guys back to keep your God swinging. This God does a whole ton of work when you start sacrificing your creatures to the Dictate of Erebos. They either lose 3 life and one of their creatures or they lose their creature and you get yours back!

Removal Package

Removal_Package

  • Banisher Priest - It's a Banishing Light on a 2/2 Human body with 2 devotion that only targets creatures. This deck runs very little targeted removal and this guy helps fill that need.
  • Banishing Light - Exile while giving 1 devotion. The only downfall to this card is that enchantment removal will be common in most metas, and if your opponent is clever they can blow you out if you are not expecting it. Still worth running 3 of since its our only removal for other enchantments or artifacts and deals with planeswalkers so we can keep swinging to the dome.
  • Dictate of Erebos - I cannot say enough about this card. If I could run 5 I probably would. With how resilient the creature base is this card gets bonkers. When you start unloading your hand with 2-3 drops your opponent is thinking pure aggro. When you suddenly drop this down you'll surprise them not only because it has flash, but they wont see it coming. This card lets you get 2:1's all day long and when you get your guys back with either zombie tokens, voice tokens, or the God returns them you start getting even more mileage. It gets really mean if you can ever get 2 of these in play. In my experience just landing one is usually enough to completely tilt the game to you.
