You should include more ramp for turns 1 and 2. This doesn't look like it's worth excluding Living End.

all of the land cycles are turn 2 fetchers... but I am sure you are right... I never looked at adding dorks. maybe I'll do that.

If you're looking for more board wipes, some things I found are: Magus of the Disk, Nevinyrral's Disk, Hythonia the Cruel, and Rout.
Another card you might like would be Magister of Worth

HostOfSmallPox, SolelyUbiquitous, twospires,What do you guys think? It seems to work great and has the potential to kill everyone on the board by turn 6 via Curiosity and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind loop combo, but if not then kill with commander damage via massive beaters, but if not then steal everything via Hellkite Tyrant and Mycosynth Lattice combo, but if not then control the board with mass removal ala Pernicious Deed and friends, which also fills GYs, then finish with a killer mass reanimation. The ramp gets me going fast to keep up with aggro decks and the pillow forts keeps me alive in the early game. The deck clearly has very strong board presence in the late game and the mid game is where the choices hang out. I have looked a lot for other cool cards and put them in the maybeboard. please let me know if you feel very strongly about any of those cards... I like them all but I am not sure what to take out to include any of them.
Thanks

Um, the Curiosity and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind loop would only work if you're using the Scion of the Ur-Dragon's ability to copy the Firemind. There are a lot of "but if nots" in your comment, which is good.

+1 just for the name. But great story and scary deck!
January 21, 2015 8:09 p.m.
Niv deals direct damage so evan if you copy him with scion its not commander damage as commander damage is combat damage only (otherwise Nekusar would be the only commander)

I forgot about that. So, with the Curiosity + Niv-Mizzet loop, you would only be able to kill off two players, and then you would have 80 cards in your hand, to fill your graveyard with. That's still good for you.

Yeah, I realized that it does not count as commander damage after, but it is still very strong. I am sure the deck needs a little work but all in all I like how it plays.

+1 form me!
I love the deck (and the name), and I have a few suggestions.
Moltensteel Dragon is an instant-kill with the Scion.
Quicksilver Dragon can be another protection dragon.
Training Grounds to use the Scion's ability for free!
Utvara Hellkite = lots of dragons.

Also Wheel of Sun and Moon let's you reuse all of your dragons.

dragon_slayer, Thanks for looking and the suggestions. I hadn't considered Training Grounds I think that the second part of that card says that the activation cost will be reduced to 1 not 0
I've considered Quicksilver Dragon but it is to situational and has a cost so I need to keep 3 mana open to turn Scion into him and then activate the ability. and it can't be used if there is not a legal target.
Utvara Hellkite is really good and I had him in here for a while, but I found that when I was searching my library for a dragon I rarely picked him... His power is either takes two turns to work, and/or it only works when I am about to win regardless.
I've seen people use Moltensteel Dragon with Skittles for an infect kill, but, in multiplayer, I don't like the idea of needing to pay life to kill someone else... the one who benefits the most on that is the opponent who is witnessing the carnage.
Wheel of Sun and Moon is a really good idea for a different build, but I want the dragons in my GY so I can bring 'em all back
Great ideas and most of them have been considered, I just want to keep the deck less dragon oriented and more utility. I can kill you with 15 dragons or I can kill you with 4 dragons. I'll take 4 dragons... and be able to include some ramp, control and pillowfort.
Thanks.

Zer0w, yea you better stay away...
Training Grounds--Darn, I never realized the 1 mana min, I thought the card was so good...
I love Scion of the Ur-Dragon as a commander because of the many different deck styles you can build with him, so I understand your reasoning about the other cards I suggested. However, I was thinking of Quicksilver Dragon as more of a backup for Silumgar (if you have Silumgar in your hand, or you need protection multiple times, etc.).
Still, I love the deck!

What about adding a Crystal Quarry to help stabilize your mana to get scion out easier?
February 18, 2015 2:14 p.m.
It used to be in here, but most of the time I have no problem with mana fixing so I took it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
February 18, 2015 2:29 p.m.
I'm with Kozelek, while playtesting I've never had my mana work out very well.
February 19, 2015 8:41 a.m.
Just retested it 10 times and all 10 time I had all the mana I needed with no fixing... I don't know what your doing wrong. if I where to add 1 mana fixer what would you recommend? I like my fixers to also be ramp. maybe Darksteel Ingot? indestructible is nice in EDH.
February 19, 2015 9:11 a.m.
tested it 10 more times and had 9 games work well, the other game I simply did not get enough mana of any color. I thin 19 out of 20 games is a very good ratio.
February 20, 2015 9:10 a.m.
twospires I just took out Condemn and added Boros Charm to combo with all of my board wipers, and Might of the Nephilim for a one turn kill, what 1 card should I take out. I just can't decide.
February 23, 2015 10:53 a.m.
Probably Mycosynth Lattice. It's cute, but doesn't do too much.

twospires this is my take on the non-cascade style deck. if you have a little time let me know what you think.
