I built this deck and it is sooo much fun to play! Completely dominates 1v1 and infuriates my friends when I recur Child of Alara from my graveyard and prevent the Commander recast penalty. I've played it 3 times and one once from Commander damage and twice from Maze's End. Great Build! Recommend this super budget friendly deck to anyone that needs to knock a player in your playgroup down a peg or two when they get too big for their britches

So I tried this deck tonight at a fairly competitive table and it did alot of work! It didn't win, and I only tried it once, but it was the most fun game for me. The ramp is crazy and the fact that Child keeps coming back and wipes everything every time it dies is crazy. (Under) 70$ well spent!

John_Styx that's awesome. Glad you've had fun with it and have seen what it can do, even at competitive tables. Any particular plays or situations happen that were notable?

Hey Ender666666! So I waited to play a bit more with this deck until I could give you a solid answer. I can safely say that this deck is alot of fun since you do something almost every turn, and people notice pretty fast how Child is a powerful Commander. I actually won just yesterday... by getting the 10 Guildgates in play, ha ha! The two other guys eventually allied against me but still couldn't stop it, even though one of them was running Pharika as his Commander and was exiling Child every time it hit the graveyard.

I have a question: why does the deck play so many Raise Dead effects instead of Zombify effects? In fact, the deck doesn't even play Zombify at all. The only reanimate-to-battlefield cards I can see here are "Breath of Life" and "Victimize". Zombify is not an expensive card, is there some advantage to running cards that return dead creatures to hand like "Soulless Revival", "Gravepurge", and "Wander in Death" over spells that actually reanimate?

Can you please name the specific cards you're thinking of?

Some cheap reanimation effects I can think of:
Zombify, Stitch Together, Dread Return, Obzedat's Aid, Ever After, Resurrection, Unburial Rites, Torrent of Souls

what are your thoughts about Thrilling Encore,Diabolic Intent, Virtus's Maneuver and Journey to Eternity for this budget build?

Thrilling Encore, Diabolic Intent, Virtus's Maneuver, Journey to Eternity Flip, are all good cards, but they are mostly too expensive to add to the deck at the moment. Depending on pricing trends though, I could see some of them being quite useful.

a couple Mob Rule effects could be really cool. Steal their stuff, swing in and sacrifice for value!

Hey ! New user here, but a long time Magic player (excuse my french, 'cause I'm, well french...) I really enjoyed your deck, so I ordered the cards to play it. The first thing that comes to my mind that this deck really lacks some mana stability and some ramp. Every time I try to take a seven card hand, I haven't the good colors, or I have no land, and it's crucial for the first turns to get this engine on :) So maybe you could exchange some basic land with cards such as charge lands like Vivid Marsh or Vivid Grove (maybe it's slover, but it's more stable). Big ass ending cards like Villainous Wealth are overkill, and you won't be able to play it if you don't survive the first turns... Maybe replace it with some more ramp cards like Wayfarer's Bauble or stuff like that. What do you think of it ? (I upvoted your deck of course ;) )

One more thing ! Pilgrim's Eye or Mycosynth Wellspring could get a great synergy in this deck Expedition Map is good for the gates or the end of maze too. Here's some useful ramp cards : Caravan Vigil Evolution Charm Sylvan Scrying etc.

Hi JujuleBarbu
First, thanks for the upvote, and for taking the time to comment. I hear what you're saying about the manabase and all. 5-colour decks are hard to get right. The truth is that for me, I usually don't have mana troubles and I wonder if your experience is just bad luck? I appreciate the suggestions, but please do remember that this is meant to be a budget deck, so we are working within tight constraints.
Regarding Villainous Wealth, it's a personal favourite card and I did tune the deck to be heavier UBG than RW, and have tuned it to actually abuse the card. For me, nothing is nicer than using a budget deck to control the board, and then stomp on an opponent with their own cards.
I do agree with you that this is not a FAST deck, but I can usually stabilize and take control of the board before getting wiped out.
Please feel free to post your list, as I am always interested in seeing other people's takes on lists I run.
Finally, thank you again for engaging, and happy playing!
