Can you guess which one Ezuri did?

"You spelled 'complete wrong...." LEARN YOUR LORE~

So for the newer players, "compleat" or "compleation" is something in the lore that refers back to the Phyrexians of old, back when Yawgmoth was very much alive. "Compleation" is the process by which the Phyrexians would take a person and piece by piece replace flesh with metal and machinery until almost nothing of the person is left except the memories and personality of the person that used to be, now enslaved to the goals of Phyrexia.

Originally, Yawgmoth (also known to the Phyrexians as the "Father of Machines") used this process on people suffering from Pthisis, radiation poisoning from the powerstones on Yawgmoth's home plane of Dominaria. Though back then, the process was called "Phyresis". Thus the term "Phyrexian" was coined, and that's our lore lesson for the day kids!

Phyrexian

I AM COMPLEATE!

Welcome the my take on Ezuri elf bomb EDH! Ezuri is back, and he's mean, and he's one scary compleated Phyrexian machine~

Ezuri

So new Ezuri, much like his predecessor, lends himself handily to a very aggresive elf tribal strategy. The added blue to the deck however offers us more utility in offering a select few permission spells and draw spells to keep from petering out to quickly. New Ezuri also offers something that old Ezuri does not: He turns any creature into a formidable threat for more than just a turn.

*Deck Building Restrictions: "Aluren and You."

So because of Ezuri's odd and unique ability, the deck requires some slightly different card choices than your typical ramp shell, ie more small creatures.

Well, what kind of small creatures would you want to play? Would it be worth it to play some bigger utility creatures too?

Ezuri can be taken different ways for these two answers, but the answer I came to was I wanted to play elf bomb. Elves are typically smaller creatures which would trigger Ezuri's ability with ease, and attacking with a 9/9 Boreal Druid is funny, amirite? As such, creatures that interact favorably with elf strategies (Craterhoof Behemoth, Regal Force) mixed with small doses of permission (Mystic Snake, Venser, Shaper Savant) would make for a fair blend for the deck.

Then I got to thinking: "What else goes well with elf bomb strategies??? Blue/green decks are way too combo-y to not do something crazy..."

Then it hit me:

Aluren

Aluren.

Aluren combo makes this deck go just off the wall, and let me count the ways:

Aluren + Cloudstone Curio : With this on board and two creatures you can play off Aluren, you can literally go infinite Experience Counters. That's NUTS.

Aluren + Cloud of Faeries + Cloudstone Curio : Infinite mana and infinite Experience Counters.

Aluren + Cloudstone Curio + Elvish Visionary : Draw my deck and infinite Experience Counters.

Aluren + Cloudstone Curio + Soul of the Harvest/Primordial Sage/Glimpse of Nature: Pseudo combo off, draw a bajillion cards and make a bajillion Experience counters.

So what can we do with infinite Experience Counters?

Champion of Lambholt: One shot people.

Sage of Hours: Lock out the board, infinite turns.

Gyre Sage: Infinite green mana.

Any Creature: Just an infinitely large beater every turn

So in short, by limiting ourselves on what we can and cannot play we give ourselves the ability to come out of nowhere and just wreck the board.

So How does the Deck Win?

Well that's a good question, how do I win?

Well, you have what I call the "Fair Plan" or the "Fair Game" and it's exactly what it sounds like. The Fair Game consists of basically:

1 - Ramp into Ezuri, Claw of Progress.

2 - Cast a bajillion elves, trigger general a bunch.

3 - Make my little dudes huge, swing.

That's pretty simple right? Well, we also have the "Glipmse of Nature/Aluren Plan". This version of winning is a tad bit more complex, but I'll try to break it down a little bit.

Basically the end goal of this plan is to set up a way to draw the majority of my deck via some combination of Glimpse of Nature, Soul of the Harvest, or Primordial Sage in conjunction with Concordant Crossroads, Aluren, Cloudstone Curio, Heritage Druid, or Birchlore Rangers to keep making more mana so we can continue to draw more cards. By doing this we do one of three things:

1 - We fizzle, but typically still net something like 10+ creatures and that many more experience counters.

2 - We go off and hit a critical mass of creatures with Craterhoof Behemoth and Concordant Crossroads to just punch the table in the balls.

Hoofie

3 - We can't quite find the Craterhoof Behemoth, but we find Sage of Hours and just take infinite turns and eventually kill everyone anyways.

Hours
